hi all - i'd really appreciate any info anyone has to offer.... i'm debating going to the doctor, but i just wouldn't know where to go (endo, reg doc, of which i have none since i recently moved), or where to start.... i'm a type 1 diabetic (diagnosed 6 months ago), so i'm not sure if my problems are related, or not. i've been having weird back pain - mostly in the middle of my back on the left side. its not terrible pain. but its there. i've been more rundown and tired lately, and my blood sugar levels have been under control. and within the past few days i've had ridiculous fecal urgency. i got up this morning, didn't have to go.. then within 10 minutes, i couldn't even make it in the bathroom (room over!) to go. its not diarrhea. normal-soft stool. NO idea whats going on, if its related to my back hurting or diabetes and nerve damage or what.

Near your kidney?
Since you're not having diarrhea, the fecal urgency thing is hard to explain. Maybe something is causing spasms in your lower bowel. I thought that in diabetes, you can develop nerve issues over the course of time, _mainly in the extremities_ (peripheral neuropathy), but I'm not really sure. You have some complicating issues, so I'd recommend a call to the doctor.
