I'm 18 years old(yeah I know it's illegal for me to drink), but I have been drinking for probably a year or so. As of late I have drank a lot of alcohol, 2 weeks ago I was drunk everyday of the week, and I always drank Jack Daniels. In that week I consumed 4 1/5's of Jack Daniels and a good amount of beer. Before then I would drink probably 2 times a week(weekends), and then some weeks I would just drink the entire week depending on if I had it. What I have noticed that if I have alcohol in my possession I can't resist from drinking it, and when I don't have alcohol in my possession I often think and wish I had some to drink. I like to drink mainly because I am a fairly shy person, and this drinking gets rid of that shyness, and it also makes me feel good. That kind of drinking is perfectly fine and I know that. The problem is I never stop there, when I drink I keep going, and I can't stop once i've started, well until god knows what happens and then I wake up the next day. I haven't drank in over a week and I am REALLY craving it right now, and am supposed to drink tonight. Either way I want to continue to drink, I am just worried that I might get addicted. I also want to come up with a way to "know when to stop." How can you tell yourself to stop drinking when you have already started, without actually just throwing drinking out the window in general. Also when I drink, the only thing on my mind is sex, and it is a very strong sexual drive. Why is this? ALSO because of this I don't even know if i'm a virgin or not. I was at a party at a hotel and I know I slept in the same bed as this girl, and I woke up in the morning and there was a used condom and I have no idea if I even used it! What makes me think I did was because I then had this girls number in my cell phone...

hi, Just wanted to share a small experience with you. My uncle who was working in the Taj hotel was a good looking man in the company of girls and enjoyed a high lifestyle. He started drinking just for fun but soon started getting addicted to it. It had now become an intrinsic part of his life.No matter how much he tried to wean himself away, he was sucked into it. He was on medication too ,but it did not help much because first you need to have the will power to leave it. He lost his job because of excessive drinking on the job and became extremely depressed . Finally due to acute depression he committed suicide. So my friend , please stay off .There are a lot of good treatments available for this and Im sure you will be in control of yourself.

Yes you are too young to be dealing with this. I would talk to someone about it and seek help. You definitely need to get on the road to sobriety and perhaps you can start that by going to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meetings. You will have lots of support from people who are going through the same thing as you and can help you on your road back to sobriety. It's not a good thing to be alcoholic...you said you become more "brave" when you drink, you need to try on working on your self esteem and get out of being shy because there is nothing worse then being with a girl and being drunk all the time. You will definitely fail in your relationships if you keep this one up because nobody wants to be in a relationship with an alcoholic..do it now while you are still young I know firsthand what it's like, I was(am) in a relationship with someone now who is going through the same thing as you and it is tough for me but we are trying to both work on that road to recovery for her.

I'm not so sure about AA, but there are groups that are worth looking into.
-
What kind of thoughts do you have about AA? I think it would be good for him, he can talk with others who are going through the same problem as himself and can relate better to his situation than anyone who is NOT going through the same type of situation.
-
o AA has a religious component, which some find not useful.o It infantilizes its members, claiming that, basically, they have no control over anything.o AA refuses to release rhe results of its own studies on its effectiveness.o Informtion that has been released by the organization indicates that it is not an effective program.o It is frozen and unchanged since its inception. It has not adopted any new ideas. It is rather like a cult. So very American. There are better choices. I don't recommend AA.

Well, in any case, he should find some sort of group or support that is in the same situation as himself to help him out through these rough times...supportive family and/or friends would be helpful as well

Yes.

Alcohol is very fatty, if youre drinking all the time youre just gunna get fatter. Yes you are addicted, I guess you could quit perminently or you can tell yourself you are gunna drink once every two weeks say and make sure you stick to it. And if you dont do ypu have to do a forefit like slam your cock in a door. Also situps wont make u loose weight and if youre doing situps to get fat off your stomache that wont work. all youre doing is building stomache muscle. When you work out 1 body part you loose weight from everywhere on your body. It wouldnt make sense to lose weight from the 1 body part you work out. Or I would have a very skinny right are if you catch my drift . Take up cycling or somthing but not while drink

Hey, I am only 15, but I know exactly where your at!!! I am an alcoholic! Noone else can call you a drunk or alcoholic unless you admit it to yourself regardless of what, how much, when and where you drink. I have been in 4 different rehabs all due to alcohol, nothing else. The only thing that ever helped me stop drinking was Alcoholics Anonymous, ironically the cheapest and most conveinent treatment program available. Try going to about 3-5 different meetings. Don't turn it off because you will rarely relate with people at your very first meeting. There are many different types of meetings for different people. I started drinking at 11 y/o, yes 11. If you think I only drank sometimes or on the weekends. I used to drink EVERY morning before school, even before I took a shower. I could not function whatsoever w/o a drink in me. Rehabs didn't help, only my Gay Youth Alcoholics Anonymous group did. I don't know where you live. but I hope you live in or near a large city, many types of meetings are available for all types of people. One thing I should say, is that you really must want to quit drinking. Should you need to talk, you can first email me at [Email removed]-Brian

At least I'm not addicted I just like it, so I just drink it! lol and I'm only 14 started at 12 lol. I would always try to get my uncle to buy it everytime when we and my family go out to eat, I don't know the exact name but its pretty damn good!

I Googled "Gay Youth Alcoholics Anonymous", and the only thing that turned up was your post on this site. Are you the only member?
