I am in a period nightmare. I was near hell when I used pads, self-consciousness and all that, was someonne seeing that super chunky pad with a big buldge? Now I've moved over to tampons. I tried Tampax [compak and non compak], but they always seem to leak after 2/3 hours. Even the super plus leaks after 3 hours on my heavy flow days. I think its not because I have an abnormal heavy flow, i think it may be because of the tampax design [i think it expands lengthways not widthways]. Has anyone has the same experience of leaking after a short while with tampax? Can anyone suggest a better brand that I can use which will be more secure and that I won't have to change ever 2/3 hours? Please post advice and brands below, I really need all the help and advice I can get. Please post tampon brands only, if your gonna post a brand. Menstural cups, pads, I've been there and its been awful for me. Tampons are my only hope.

This almost looks like an ad for Carefree, but it might be helpful.I'm surprised that pads aren't a lot better for you than tampons on very heavy days.

i know my gf uses O.B tampons, however i don't know really if they are much better, but she now prefers them over the ones she used to use, which were tampax i believe. as for the heavy day flows, i know she wears a pad while using a tampon to catch any leaks but i think she's only had one or two in the almost 2 years that i've been with her

Playtex Super Plus usually works for me... I have to change it every 4 hours.

I had the same experience. On heavy days, tampax expands lengthwise and leaks within 2/3 hours. O.B. has been my best friend. It expands widthwise and RARELY leaks.

Hon, relax first of all its not the end of the world. I hate pads too, can so see where you are going with that one. As for tampons, i kinda have to change mine every 2-3 hours at the start of my period..........even with the heaviest flow tampons, its just one of those things, or else it does leak a little, or even shoot out when i cough laffin I always used tampax tampons, they are fine for me, i tried a few others and i didn't feel as comfortable with them, but experiment with the different brands and find the one for you

Well I personally don't have this problem because my periods are not only VERY short (3 days tops!) but very lite as well..However, you could try changing the brand you're using and buying panty liners.. They are not chunky like pads and can catch any leaks you may have even on the best of the brands available.. They are super thin and small, so they shouldnt create any kind of bulge.. If the leaks are heavy though, that may not be a good idea.

Breath girl, periods are not the end of the world. I know they can be very annoying, but you're gonna have to survive with them for quite a long time.

Ive used Tampax for the last 6 years.. the compact ones.. i can go with a regular kind.. for sometimes up to 8 hours and im good... never leaked!

i use O.B. and they usually work pretty well, on the first days of my period i usually only have to change them every 5-6 hours, and i find that they are much more comfortable than tampax or playtex

amen!

personally i used tampax compacts when i used to get my period, if i had it i would use the new braided string, (prevents leakage) or so the commercial states lol, or if you worried about staining your underwear try a tampon with a panty liner, theyre too thin too worry about it being noticable.
