I'm a nothing, religion-wise. I was raised as a Roman Catholic but lost religion when I was 14. I don't currently see myself ever going back to it but I can't truthfully use the label agnostic or atheist to describe myself either.

Christian (Anglican).

I was chistened Anglican, The silver cup is still at my mom's house somewhere.I'll often refer to myself as agnostic or even athest at times. I also belong to a wonderful organisation that frowns on that. We never define which god, just that you beleive in one (or more, I guess)I believe in science. In a way it's my religion. Along those lines, I guess I see god all around me. When I look at the trees, the grass, the sky; I see god. When I look at the face of my son I see god. When I look at my wifes round little ass, I see god. When I look through my microscope, I see god.Right now, I'm looking at a 17" CRT monitor. I know exactly how and why this device works and, I guess, in that I see god.So maybe, I'm not an athiest.

At first I was an agnostic, but then i said to my self: who am i kidding? so i'm an atheist. Religion never made ANY sense to me, so i stick to science. I like science.
-
Christian and I follow the baptist doctrine. I'm not southern batpist, I'm more of an independent baptist

In my opinion organized religion has gone astray. They are more interested in milking the bank accounts of members and using the money to gain power and political position. If you took the hypocrites out of most churches there wouldn't be enough left to pass the plate. It's a business in my opinion. What a racket? Tax free on top of that! Voodoo in it's present form!

amv201> I never realized there were so many agnostic and atheist people out there until I read this forum. I guess I have just grown up in a conservative community where everybody either goes to church or just is a nothing religion-wise.I don't understand the difference between the "agnostic" and "a nothing". Is "a nothing" someone who's never even thought about it? Few "first world" countries are anywhere nearly as religious as the U.S. is. Most of the populatation of Western Europe is, effectively, irreligious. Britons think it's really weird that American politicians wear their faith on their sleeve, and freely invoke their religious views in their speeches.JenJen> At first I was an agnostic, but then i said to my self: who am i kidding? If I may be presumtuous (which I never am), you are epistemologically an agnostic (you can't prove the non-existence of God), but ontologically you are an atheist, since the idea of an omniscient, omnipotent being looking down from the heavens is absurd on its face.canon> In my opinion organized religion has gone astray.Given that organized religion is just another political institution, the die was cast from the start.Katie Lou> I don't have a water buffalo, but I once visited Buffalo.

I follow the Satanist philosophy, but was christened a protestant - which I believe is a form of christianity.
-
I've always equatated agnostic with "I don't know"
-
How about, "It's unknowable"?
-
ok, I dunno
-
I don't know. Should I believe you're an angry bitch, or is there not enough evidence to make that determination?
-
Even online we argue about religion, and the existence or not of a god.............and we wonder why as a world we can't get on with eachother!

Joking? Either you are a liar, or you don't understand your own motivation. You post things that are meant to tweak, and you know what kind of reply you'll get. Are you familiar with the phrase passive agressive? Except your agression is transpently not passive. How stupid do you think people are?You seem to be really hung up on this agry black chick stchick. What's behind that? Why would America fear an angry young black woman who has a lot to learn, beyond holding strong political opinions?I've knows a lot of people who have rejected their religious upbringing. It finally occurred to them that there's no man behind the curtain. In France, I've only rarely met younger people who are religious at all. I've met older folks who are, including religious parents of people I know who are not religious. It seems that people who are in a religious or cultural minority use religion to help them stick together, while the majority tend to drift away from their family's beliefs.

I did not grow up in a religious household but I was phenomenally religious when I was younger. I attended every mass I could (school allowing) and served as an altar boy for 4 years.
