There's this guy that I like, and he totally likes me back this time! We live in the same city but he's 40 minutes away, that's a long drive just to see me for a couple hours. You know? But yeah, anyways, we text constantly, I think I send around 700 messages a day, and this relationship we have is growing and growing, my problem is that if he has to drive all the way here, just to see for a few hours would that hinder a relationship?Like, would it be wise to nip the weed early when there's no attachments? Or should we at least try?Sorry for the trouble guys and gals...But I rely on this forum for great advice.

There's A Guy-

If i was in this situation i would definitely make sure i got to know the person well. I mean is this a guy you have known for a few days, a few weeks, or what? With my current girlfriend we took things slow at first. Got to know each other for a month just chatting online, then we hung out in person for a few weeks, and then we made it official.I guess it would be worth it to hang out a few times and see where it goes. I would make sure hes the guy for you before you make a commitment to drive 40 minutes (or he drive forty minutes) a few times a week you know?As far as the hindering thing, if i had to drive 40 minutes to see my girlfriend just for 3 or 4 hours i would do it in a heartbeat, but then again this is a girl that i love.

Well, we have been chatting online and on the phone for like, 4 months now. So, I don't know. We can see where it goes I suppose.

Forty minutes away is nothing! If you reject relationships because the other person doesn't live around the corner you'll be rejecting a lot of potentially good ones.I think a few hours a week together would be much better than hundreds of text messages (which can start to seem clingy if they are too continual).

Haha, yeah, I guess you're right, but that is an awfully long drive- I don't think I would want someone to drive all that way just to see me, seems kind of selfish don't you think? How is sending loads of text messages clingy? >.>;That caught my eye. XD

Forty minutes is nothing. Try it. What have you got to lose.
>>>"How is sending loads of text messages clingy?"
Because it get annoying. This person is trying to work or read or take a crap and the phone goes off, pretty soon their just going to want to be left alone and wonder why you can't let 'em have a moments peace.
Thus clingy and end of relationship.

Of course they would want to drive that far to see you!
Huge numbers of people drive longer than that just to get to work, which is much less exciting.
OldFolks answered the clingy part perfectly.

Oh, lol, well, I don't send him messages unless he sends them to me first.

Very true. Where i live alot of people commute "over the hill" 30-40mins to get to work (sometimes longer depending on traffic). Driving to see a BF, or GF would be much more exciting. If you guys really like each other why not try it out? It could lead to something amazing....

I sense a bit of sexual amusement right there.Haha.
