Been toying with the idea for a while now. What if I were to only drink water, and take supplements to keep on top of all mineral and vitamin requirements?Would that be an effective way to aid weight loss (along with excercise)? Also, does depression help in weight loss, cos if so that would help a lot...

The water diet...

Taking in just water and vitamins or supplements is not good for your body at all. You may lose weight, but you'll do damage, and in the long run you'll gain back any weight you lost. Suffering from depression can go both ways for people...some gain weight and others lose weight.

That's a very bad idea. You need to start eating a healty diet that you will stick with for the rest of your life. Crash diets are absolutely pointless, and are harmful, an you will gain the weight back.
On the other hand, exercise of any type is always a good thing. It's not just that a certain amount of exercise burns a certain number of calories; exercising regularly will re-jigger your metabolism.

Most supplements require that you take them with a meal, otherwise, they don't get absorbed into your body as well as they should. In other words, only taking vitamins with water (unless they're supposed to be taken with only water) could prevent you from getting the proper amount of what you need out of the vitamins. And like Steve said, you'll just gain the weight back once you start eating again.
