DECLINE OF RAP?????
-
Tiz all an opinion :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:, where I agree rap is not a very tallented kind of music i guess whatever toots your flue. I have the same problem finding good punk rock bands, most of the new mainstream bands that people class as "punk" are borderline emo or just plain shit. Ha ha speaking of which i get so many people saying "punks dead" like its gunna offend me of like I give a fuck. There are a lot of new punk bands that are amazing out there they are just not well knowen because the craze nowdays is emo and pop rock.
-
I can't stand this candy-coated pop-punk. But that can happen to any music. I'm sure there are rap fans who hate the tunes that get played 15 times a day on MTV.
-
I think you should give it all up and listen to some good old nostalgic Lawrence Welk. That should get your bubbles going……. LOL
-
Because now everyone is talking about how much money the have, how many women they can fuck, how they got the "bling-bling," and how they can kill people who are their enemies. The majority of people in the U.S. who listen to hip-hop can't relate to the "lifestyle" rappers live (money, cars, and hoes). They aren't rapping about shit that affects people lives; it's a genre that has become materialistic and lacks talent.I Agree with you hun! I personally think a lot of rap has really gotten outta hand. I am tired of hearing all the shit about murdering, bling bling and who he can fuck. A lot of it is degrading.yes I know If you don't like it than don't listen to it (which i don't) But I have two younger siblings that do listen to it and I don't think they need to be hearing all that. I try and be the "cool" older brother that lets them get away with certain things.. but some of the things I hear them repeat from that music makes me even blink a few times.
-
Rap nowdays is full of talk about "niggers" "hoes" "drugs" "and bling". What ever happened to classic rap like MC hammer and Elton John. Personaly I'm not a big fan of rap anyway, some of its cool like the transplants. But they are more alternative than rap.
-
I have to admit I do like clasic rap.. and if there's any rap I listen to it's Will Smith. As someone else mentioned at least his lyrics are clean, and often times they are just fun to listen to. Like "Gettin Jiggy wit it" LoL!

one of the first, if not THE first rap singles to hit top 40 radio was actually Blondi "Rapture" Blondi was also concidered the first pop-punk band.
Wierd huh? -
OOHH! Blondi!! Rapture is one of my all time fav 80's songs!
-
1980 to be exact.
-
I think "Sweet Dreams" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop us Now" are my 2 ultimate fav 80's toons than Rapture.Hell there are just tons of great toons that came from the 80's!!
-
Blondie almost wrecked their careers with the disco-inspired Heart of Glass. And what about the Cars for pop-punk?The Sugar Hill Gang's Rapper's Delight is not exactly about meadows of flowers.Anyone remember the Jaggerz The Rapper?Nt> "Sweet Dreams" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop us Now"That kind of syrupy music was a minor source of friction between me and a couple of women I've dated. They had no appreciation for MC5, Dead Kennedys, Run DMC, or Motorhead.
-
hmmm not by name but if I heard it I might remember it. I'm horrible when it comes to remembering song names.
-
It's from before your time. It was aimed at the old guy.
-
Well the only rappers I like are the ones from the 80s and early 90s (I like some of the newer rappers but not many). Ice-T, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa... and my all time favortie rapper was Vanilla Ice. Yes, I'm lame I know, but Ice Ice Baby was the shit!
-
lol I know but I love older music. I grew up on 50's and 60's music. Also like a lot of 70's and 80's music. They just don't have good music like that today.
-
Vanilla IceHe's from Dallas. He might still be big in Japan.
-
