but by and large, they are quite capableI keep talking about generals, and you keep talking about soldiers. I'm talking about leaders and leadership. That the men running things have screwed up a lot does not make the case that women are poor leaders.> I was pointing out that just because someones military trainded doesnt make them at all smart or ready for battle. How does the fact that you found it funny that a lot of civilians were shot make your point?Someone really screwed up. The guys who did the shooting thought they were being shot at, and either didn't know that they were shooting at civilians, or they are sick, murderous bastards. I doubt that the latter is true.If you find that funny, then you have a personality defect.
-
Female President?
-
That's the point: Men and women are not the same, but how do those differences disqualify a woman from being president?
-
If you find that funny, then you have a personality defect.I dont understand why. Me and my friends at college found it hullarious when we read it.>I keep talking about generals, and you keep talking about soldiers. I'm talking about leaders and leadership. That the men running things have screwed up a lot does not make the case that women are poor leaders. If they became emotionaly attatched on the front line then I was assuming things as president would also get to them as its a tough job and influences alot of lives. I dont know if they would be able to do it emotionaly. Thature was a good president but thats because she was tough.
-
Oh I didnt know that.
-
If you find that funny, then you have a personality defect.> I dont understand why. Me and my friends at college found it hullarious when we read it.OK, I'm assuming there was a misunderstanding, and you're laughing at the irony of those guys coming to fight for freedom and democracy, but shooting up a wedding party instead, becasue of their incomptence. Otherwise, you and you your friends are chavs on a massive scale.> If they became emotionaly attatched on the front line then I was assuming things as president would also get to them as its a tough job and influences alot of lives. I dont know if they would be able to do it emotionaly. Thature was a good president but thats because she was tough.I don't get it. Are you questioning whether Thatcher was really a woman? Or Golda Meier, for that matter? Thatcher didn't get "emotionally attached". There are many other women like her. I'm not saying that your mom should be prime minister. I doubt that your dad would qualify either. But to beat this completely into the ground, there are women who qualify, emotionally. Thatcher proves that there's at least one. Political correctness has nothing to do with it. Either you're qualified or your not.
-
Lol youre just trying to wind me up with that chav comment arnt you . Yes the irony is funny but also the look on their face as the chopper appeared would be priceless. The phrase owned comes to mind ^^>I don't get it. Are you questioning whether Thatcher was really a woman?Well I never saw her vagina but thats besides the point. I guess you have convinced me and swayed my opinion on the whole female president thing.
-
I'm still voting for Christopher Walken in '08, I hope you all will too.
-
Hell yes I am too!
-
Finland, Latvia, New Zealand, and the Philippines have female leaders, and now Germany will have a female chancellor. w_l, is Germany now totally screwed?
-
Shes actually smart(the german chancellor), whatever her name is.. i just can't remember it. But deporting all the Turkish immigrants is one of the smartest things I have ever seen.Thats why I hate Hillary. The only reason people will vote for her is because she is a woman. They say that they'll do it just for the history books. She isn't really what I think is in the best intrests of this country. She wants to open the borders up and pretty much accept illegal immigants. Thats the prime reason I hate her. I've read that Hillary Clinton was studied by Communist Chinese Spies. The Chinese Governement claims they were doing research on her speaches. They sway that they've never seen anyone better at spreading propoganda.

They ought to study George Bush and his brain, Karl Rove. Bush looks like a complete idiot, yet he's managed to get a lot of his agenda through. Rove is an evil genius (and is about to be indicted).
You sure are obsessed with the immigrant issue. Which president has closed the borders? Bush won't do it, because some of his influential politial base needs the cheap labor it provides. And Miami continues to fill up with Cubans coming over in boats. Unlike everyone else, all they have to do is touch land (i.e., not sink in the ocean or be intercepted by the Coast Guard), and they get to stay. But the Cuban community is politically influential, so they get what they want.
If they really did seal the borders, a large segment of Amercian agriculture would be doomed.
By the way, the voters of New York state, including the Republicans and independents, love Hillary Clinton. She will win reelection to her Senate seat in a landslide. In any case, I don't recall her saying anything about throwing open the borders.
Edit: Okay, I just looked over your blog, and you are a radical. I think you'd be somewhat more moderate in your views if you were better informed.
-
In your view, is 'well-informed' just what CNN tells you? I just listen to four different stations and melt it together, and you usually get an unbiased view of it all.Yes, I know I am a radical. You don't see to many a radical republican as I, yet every other person I know is also radical, so I guess that means I fit in, doesn't it. I don't agree with the Republican parties on alot of things, but I'm radical on the things that we use as our main beleifs, other than abortion, which in my views, should be a unique yes or no policiy. It is not my fault that I will not beleive the twisted news of the Communist News Network, and people like me are the silent majority. Its wierd how even though the liberal/democrats have a monopoly on the media, yet the country votes Republican. By the way, the country isn't run by Bush alone. He has things called advisors, you see, and they help him.The reason I am obsessed with the immigrant issue is because they are destroying the culture of America. The immigrants feel that because of the majority liberal view on large companies that they will get things printed in several languages instead of learning English, which immigrants who came from Ellis Island did, and you see how great of a generation they were. And by opening the borders, I mean giving a green card to anyone or giving illegal aliens lienency because of their race. True, the farms would suffer, (I just got a funny thought in my head : eat less) but it would be worked by Americans who may be unemployed. I don't like the thought that there are unemployed Americans and illegal aliens at the same time.
-
I just listen to four different stations and melt it together, and you usually get an unbiased view of it all.You might learn a lot more if you turn off the TV and read newspapers and magazines..and books! All of the cable news stations serve up junk food versions of the news. Are you among the folks who believes that Fox News is "fair and balanced"? They just call it that to irritate liberals who take themselves too seriously. Believe it or not, not all media is produced in the U.S. And a lot of it is available for free, on-line, largely in English. But you'd be surprised what you can learn about what people think and why if you know a second language. This is the start of a Sept. 30th article:In reply to:Federal auditors said on Friday that the Bush administration violated the law by buying favorable news coverage of President Bush's education policies, by making payments to the conservative commentator Armstrong Williams and by hiring a public relations company to analyze media perceptions of the Republican Party. In a blistering report, the investigators, from the Government Accountability Office, said the administration had disseminated "covert propaganda" in the United States, in violation of a statutory ban.Do you prefer the administration's propaganda? Is what they say is by definition true? Do you think the news media should just roll over and die if the issue is something to your political liking? Do you think the first amendment is just stupid?> yet every other person I know is also radicalI don't know what corner of Kansas you live in, or who you surround yourself with, but unless you think the polls are lying, you are on the fringe. The center of gravity in the U.S. is at the middle of the political spectrum. Why is it that people who are perceived as far on the right or left never win national elections? Bush was perceived as "a uniter, not a divider" when he ran; now that people realize that it was a lie, his popularity has plummeted. (I have to give him credit though, for not chosing the nut jobs for the Supereme Court that the Federalist Society fringe right wingers wanted; John Roberts is actually incredibly qualified, unlike a large number of Bush's crony appointments.)Are you going to make me dig up the polls? Feast your eyes on the latest CBS News Poll.> people like me are the silent majorityNo, you guys are the noisy Fox News/Rush Limbaugh fringe right wing minority. Look at polls of how people view themselves politically, and what they're for and against, and you will come to understand that your views do not represent thosre of the average American.> The reason I am obsessed with the immigrant issue is because they are destroying the culture of America. That sounds like code words for something..."they are destroying our culture". Where did your ancestors come from? Did they destroy the culture? Where I live, it's wall-to-wall Cubans. I don't think that you could argue that they've destroyed our culture. But it's pretty hard to get a job around here if you don't speak Spanish. And Bush and his governor brother just kiss their feet, trying to keep the mindless Castro-haters in the Republican stable.I don't think it's a great idea for people not to learn the country's language (English, of course). It's not a good idea to have grade after grade in the public schools taught in foreign languages. It's certainly not to the immigrants' economic advantage. But the statistics I've seen indicate that the current immigrants are not taking any longer to learn English than they did 100 years ago. I don't know of any second generation Cubans (or anyone else) who aren't fully fluent in English.> (I just got a funny thought in my head : eat less)Very funny. The immigrants are doing work that almost no American would do for the wages that farmers (or the corporations that own the farms) are willing (or able) to pay. If the issue is forced, than farms will start disappearing even more rapidly, and we'll be importing more agricultural products. Will it be a stategic issue when we can't produce enough food to feed ourselves? It's valid to argue, "Well that's to bad. The law is the law, and it should be enforced, and not just short-circuited for some constituency's advantage". But you need to accept the ramifications.
-
I strongly dislike Fox News... They always shove their opinions down other people's throats. I think this mostly applies to Larry King, but I wouldn't really know about the rest of the staion, as it bothers me too much to watch all of the segments.
-
Larry King is on CNN, and he has no opinions. He is a sycophant to whomever he talks to. He is the King of the softball interview. You must be thinking of Bill O'Reilly.
-
Hahahahaha... I knew I got it wrong! Yeah, you are right, that's exactly who I mean. I could picture him in my head, but I just couldn't remember his name.
-
I guess you don't know what a poll is. A poll is something that surveys a limited amount of people, not the whole nation. When the entire nation was polled, they obviously chose Bush. And to the Bush thing. I don't defend him, I defend the party. To the language thing, would you not prefer us all to be speaking one language, and instead of lots of small printed lines (for example) on products have one larger one in English instead of in spanish, french, german, and italian?Back when the origonal immigrants were coming, they were of plently of races, and they made their own culture themselves. They learned English, they got jobs, they made families, and so we became diverse. We are the land of opprotunity. Now, immigrants who come here (il)legally and learn to cope to America I call Americans, but those who come here legally or illegally and insist on having America cope with THEM, I hate. Thats just so lazy how they come here, take a job, and won't even blend into society. Now to defending myself. I do read books. Alot of them. Whenever I go to Borders, you can find me in two different places: Hisotry or Politcs. I read both views, though I prefer conservative. In my opinion, the things liberals have wrong are : affirmative action, trying to take guns away (i mean, if you could take them all away, okay, but you can't) and other issues. In reply to: It's not a good idea to have grade after grade in the public schools taught in foreign languages. I don't see what you mean here, and I don't see anything backing it up.
-
i mean taking the guns away. would help a little but people who really want them would get them one way or another. and what if we got taken over by another country, I would sure want a gun then.
-
I'm not going to defend taking away guns (although I don't have one), but who exactly do you think might take us over? If they did, and you and your neighbors confronted them with handguns and hunting rifles, you would be crushed.
-
im not saying that we will. but I would still fight and i think others would if we were ever taken over.
