If there were say 3 world leaders in charge of the world there would be no starvation and many other needless things all caused by greed. There is one leader in the U.S., yet many people live pretty hard lives. The streets are not teeming with starving people, but there are families that don't have enough to eat, and ten's of millions of people with no health insurance.> Corruptions just a way of life.Seems to be so. That's why checks and balances (i.e., everybody keeps an eye on each other) is one of the clever parts of the U.S. Constitution. But the system tends to break down when everyone in the government is a crony of everyone else.

Death Penalty?
-
I dont see why they dont have a public health system, good health should be somthing everyone is entitled too not just the rich. I dont think coruption would ever be eradicated unless there was some kind of computer runing the country... sounds like the matrix! Lets hope Bill Gates doesnt make it or we will all crash. Humans are naturaly cunts, a world without poverty and corruption is impossiable. There are loopholes and the governemnt will exploit them.
-
No money? Why wouldn't the government make some kind of compensation for their mistake?
-
When the government screws up like that, you do get compensated. Often, people get released (because they're not guilty) long before they're 50. And most people who had the choice would decide to be released at 50 rather than dying now. People who get long jail sentences don't usually kill themselves.
-
would you not live on your innocence? would you rather die for something that you didn't do? Think!
-
>Killing people for profit is an utterly disgusting idea
I think you got the wrong idea on what I am saying. I feel if someone took someone else life they should be made to save lives. Why gas someone or inject them with poisons when their body can be used to save lives? Call it disgusting all you want but I'd rather see them take organs for people who are dying because they need a transplant.
If nothing else it more human for the prisoner. They get put to sleep to die. And those that actually feel remorse for what they did might actually get some comfort that their death is going to actually save a life or lives.
-
although I agree with your sentiment, I think Steve is looking at the potential for the system to be abused. Never forget that people are bastard covered bastards with bastard filling.
-
Boy howdy this is a controversial issue to beat hell.My take is this.Crime is only comitted once we deprive another HUMAN BEING of their pursuit to life, liberty, or property. Short of that there is no victim and thus no crime. The death penalty should be reserved for the few who will never ever be able to integrate into society without doing harm to others. the few who no matter what other rehabilitation technique is used will still kill, rob, or injur others and or their property.you see, for society to continue to function we must all realize that laws and rules exist which we all must obey and live by so that our society can continue to exist and function. But by my death penalty standards not very many people would be put to death. There are thousands and thousands of people locked up in prison who are there for murder and attempted murder who would never do such a thing again. These people are not deserving of death.Besides when we allow 'elected" people to decide our life and death where does the line get drawn?
-
My issue with people just living in the prisons is the fact I am paying for them to be there. Sorry if someone took another life they should be stripped of theirs.Sorry if I sound rude or maybe I am just bitter. I had two Aunts (One was my fathers sister and one was my mother's sister) killed by drunk drivers. They were killed one month apart to the day of each other. One was 18 years old and the other was 16 years old. In both cases the drunk driver went into the other lane and hit them basically head on. Also in both cases the drunk drivers died as well, otherwise I think they should of gotten the death penalty as well for being ignorant enough to get behind a car when they were drunk and murder these beautiful young women. Hell I feel bad for my Aunt's BF at the time because he lived and to this day he's a messed up man because of it.

A person who is wrongfully convicted will just lose his organs.Apparently the stuff about governments harvesting organs (as they allegedly do in China) just whizzed right by you.How about if we legalize people selling their organs on Ebay? Or maybe we can take the organs of those nasty terrorists taking up space in Guantanamo. Apparently the president has the power to declare anyone he want to an "enemy combatant". Does someone have a nice organ that you need? Just petition the president for a declaration, and you can have it in a stainless steel pan the next morning.I swear, people have no sense of history. There's a good reason that the legal system (which pretty much just follows the evolution of culture). There was a lot wrong with the "good old days".In reply to:My issue with people just living in the prisons is the fact I am paying for them to be there. Sorry if someone took another life they should be stripped of theirs.I sympathize with your bitterness, but it costs more to execute a person than it does to imprison him for the rest of his life.

Steve you take this sooooo out of context. An opinion was asked and I gave it. I dunno I just feel saving lives is more important and if it can be done this way, than I think the crime is more vindicated. Again Simply MY opinion.
Trust me I have a sense of history, my opinion has nothing to do with that.
>it costs more to execute a person than it does to imprison him for the rest of his life.
Is that including all the public attorney's we pay for everytime they want to appeal and fight the case? How about those in for life that actually take college courses that we also pay for?? If you looking at the usual aspect where we pay for the upkeep and feedings, maybe that statement is true. But there are other aspects to look at as well.
Again sorry for causing a stir yet again on something that was a personal opinion.

Steve you fuckigns rock!!!!! ha ha ha, oh man, serriosly. I have learend alot from yoruds =since i have been posstinhg here. Rock on man, youu kick asass!!!!!

Crime is only comitted once we deprive another HUMAN BEING of their pursuit to life, liberty, or property. Short of that there is no victim and thus no crime. It's a shame that you aren't in charge of hiway radar traps.

Steve you take this sooooo out of context. An opinion was asked and I gave it. I dunno I just feel saving lives is more important and if it can be done this way, than I think the crime is more vindicated. If I can still read English, you said that people should be executed for certain crimes, and their organs should be harvested at that time. (That would certainly have an effect on the execution method used). In fact, to keep the organs fresh, you'd probably want to get them before the person is dead. Exactly what context is at issue?Do you just mean that philosophically (in an ideal world, it would be a nice idea), or literally (let's carve 'em up now!)?> Again Simply MY opinion.Yup, that's what it always boils down to. The ideas of the govenment's likelihood of abusing organ harvesting whizzed by you a second time.>> it costs more to execute a person than it does to imprison him for the rest of his life.> Is that including all the public attorney's we pay for everytime they want to appeal and fight the case? How about those in for life that actually take college courses that we also pay for?? If you looking at the usual aspect where we pay for the upkeep and feedings, maybe that statement is true. It is true, including everything. $3.5 million (Florida example) covers a lot of tuition. You think it's too expensive? Then be an advocate for disallowing people with life sentences from taking courses. But a bad idea is not the solution to a bad idea.> But there are other aspects to look at as well. And that would be vengeance? If so, vengeance is worth a lot of dollars to you.> Again sorry for causing a stir yet again on something that was a personal opinion.D'oh! I guess it's your personal opinion to just make believe you haven't heard that there are a lot of wrongful convictions (some of which are caused by government malfeasance), and a great risk that a system of organ harvesting would be abused. Would you like to have Dick Chaney or Michael Brown as the head of the Organ Harvesting of the Condemned Department?
-
Good point, but that would probably take a lot of money for all those operations to be done.
-
I hate even debating with you because you take personal immature strikes at people.
Anyways yes I have heard of wrongful imprisonment.. how often do you think someone is out on death row that's wrongly convicted? I'm gonna guess it's VERY slim.
Anyways I'm not really in the mood today for you to take more personal strikes at me.
Sad I wrote you a PM last week in hopes we could stop the childishness and I thought we made headway.. damn guess I was wrong to think that.
Good Day.
-
Good point, but that would probably take a lot of money for all those operations to be done. Indeed it'll take money to do that.. but isn't saving someone life worth spending the money. Even under normal circumstances, it would cost good money to have the transplant. Like I said I know it'll never happen, it's just something I feel kind of equal out the bad the person has done.

I aggree that it's wastefull to dispose of badly neede organs. It reminds me though, of how stem cell research has been stifled in America. The best source for the cells is an aborted fetus. Fetuses are aborted every day either by accident or on purpose but it's illegal to harvest stem cells from them. The belief being that women will intentionally get pregnant and abourt to sell this commodoty. I'm sure anyone who has had an abortion can attest, it's somewhat less pleasent than donating blood.
-
Anyways yes I have heard of wrongful imprisonment.. how often do you think someone is out on death row that's wrongly convicted? I'm gonna guess it's VERY slim.I'm glad you've heard of it. This is another case where facts trump your gut feeling. There have been a [i}lot of cases of people on death row who have been wrongly convicted. The former governor of Illinois commuted the sentences of everyone on Illinois' death row before he left office in 2003, because so many mistakes were made. The current governor (Blagojevich) "announced he would continue the moratorium on executions that Governor Ryan ordered in January 2000" when he took office. Here's some interesting information from Northwestern University on the innocent people who were released from Illinois' death row. There are people who have been found innocent just before execution. People won't expend the resources to pursue the innocence of the executed. They'll focus on trying to keep alive innocent people who are still on death row. So no one knows how many how many people have been wrongfully convicted.Other states have the same types of problems as Illinois, but have not chosen to impose a moratorium on the death penalty. There are bound to be wrongful convictions. The question is, how many are acceptable? 10%? 2%? 1%? The system makes a lot of mistakes, especially for poor clients who don't have good legal representation.Just something to think about before you go harvesting organs.

I thought the best source of stem cells are from the thousands of fertlized eggs that are cooling their heels in liquid nitrogen baths, but will never be used to make a baby.
