First off, i'm 16 years old, I drink 15 cups of water everyday, NO SODA, I am a health freakm I take vitamins and fiber everyday, and for the past three weeks, I simply cant poop without taking laxatives.I remember when this started, I was working and my boss ordered from pizza hut. Over that day I ate 7 slices of pizza, 2 days later I remember I didnt poop...Since this all began, i've been going to the gym 6/7 days, and i run for 30-60 minutes, but ive been doing this for almost a year, only now my bowels are acting up. I eat about 1500 calories everyday, I eat a 6-inch sub at Subway every other day... and I simply dont poop, unless I take a laxative, and when I do take a laxative, not much at all comes out. Yes, I am just sixteen, and now I am starting to get freaked out, because it obviously isn't normal. I plan to go to the doctor tomorrow, but if you have any suggestions, ill take them.

Well, basically.... I cant poop.

Are you getting a proper amount of fiber? Often times that a pretty big reason most people get constipated.
If you are than it's a good idea you see a doctor. You could have an obstruction in the bowels (That's a little extreme so don't worry to much about it just an option). Sometimes it's just the food you eat that can cause serious constipation. My friend Becky cannot eat cheese, even in small amounts, or she gets constipated for days. So hopefully it's something just as simple as that.
Keep us posted.

I get about 7-10 grams of fiber everyday, I hope its enough?
-
grr I cannot remember how many grams a day of fiber a day you should get... but I'm thinking it a bit more than that. I dunno why but the figure 25 grams is whats coming to mind. I'll try and look it up for ya.

oKay I was close, you should consume 25-35 grams of fiber a day.

The cause can also be psychological, as I know a girl who went through a lot of stress at work and went several weeks like you. I think seeing a massotherapist (is that the right word for someone who uses massages to help nerves and things like that) helped her, both by helping her relax and "tweaking" the nerves responsible for bowel controls.

Visiting doctor at 5:30pm... I managed to poop, but only a very little came out, and rock hard. I would understand how if could be psychological, if thats even possible, I am exercising a lot at the gym, I have four months to get in shape... long story.. ill keep you guys posted.

Are you drinking enough water? Because eating a lot of fibers won't do much without enough water for them to work inside your intestines, and since you're exercising a lot, you probably require even more water than normal.

In his original post, he said: "I drink 15 cups of water everyday".

If you've changed your eating and excersising routine suddenly, then it could be a response to the shock of a new lifestyle. It's possible that if you give you're body some time to adjust to the new eating and activity habits, then you'll be back to normal.

It's weird, because before replying about the water, I checked his first post because I thought I'd read him talking about that, but for some reason I didn't find the passage on the second time around, hence why it looked stupid
