As my question implies how do I tell my family that I do not want to be an engineer anymore? It seems that they were so set and there are so many expectations for me, and I have finally come to the decision of what I want to do in life. I want to own and operate my own 4x4 fabrication shop.

How do I explain this to my family?

I assume youre studying to become one, depending on how long you have left of your course I would suggest sticking out out and finishing it and then opening your shop. Its always good to have a qualification to fall back on just in case even if you dont want to do that specific job. The more qualifications you have in life the better. Im sure youre family will understand just dont waste all the time you have put into your course by dropping out.

I think it depends how close you are to finishing the engineering course. If you are not getting through it it would probably be better to drop out and do what you want to do. However, if you are doing all right and have only one year more to go, then it would be better to finish and then do what you want to do.

I am not planning on dropping out. I am going to got get a some business background and some technology background as well. I do not want to stop school.
