Well ARE YOU? .i am so anoyed by their whining!
-
Anyone Sick of green day!!?!?!?!
-
Their new CD has some pretty good songs. There are lots of groups doing tedious music...why'd you pick them out in particular?
-
Because they used to be good. but now they just want to sing with a political agenda to make money. i dont care if its republican or democrat it like bands are true to the normal person.
-
they just want to sing with a political agenda to make moneyI don't think we can know their motivation. It's a long tradition in pop and other music to sing about political issues. Sometimes it's interesting for a musician to sing about things besides broken love affairs and bling bling. The part of rap that's not about bitches and ho's is pretty political. And some people like to sing about religious themes. Anyway, muscians get bored doing the same things over and over. If they're not doing it stictly for the money, it's not odd that they want to express their personal feelings. The Black Eyed Peas were at Kerry's non-victory rally last November in Boston, but I don't think their songs are very political.
-
No, they don't suck. But political or not, they are a big, commercial band.
-
back in '94 i used to think they were cool cause they said "fuck", then again i was like 9 or 10
-
they are probably more towards the punk end of pop-punk than artists like Simple Plan and Avril Levign. Most punk is political, the rest is about feelings and goofyness. GD isn't too bad.
If you don't like political commentary, listen to Britney -
ughhh i hate pop! im talking more bands like cake.
-
I like Offspring, but their music is not exactly free of social commentary.
-
offspring's singles ususally sound very suspiciously like something I've heard bofore. They've borrowed from Adrenaline O.D. and even the Beatles
-
But they're so....alienated! How can you not dig their alienation, even if they "borrow"?The main thing is that their lyrics are pretty damn funny.
-
Nope.. I dont mind throwing a Green Day CD in once in awhile.
-
I never could get into themNow if you want the number one in the punk/metal/comedy/flaminco genre, you gotta check out my beloved Meatmen
-
In reply to: im talking more bands like cake. Oh I love Cake, my friend got me hooked on that band! Three Days Grace is good too (my fav songs of theirs is "(I Hate) Everything About You" and Home).
-
complete oppisites but...ok
-
Does Green Day's American Idiot really bother you? I'm not crazy about that song, but I really like Holiday.
-
Offspring are amazing live, they really know how to perform live and work the crowed unlike any band I have ever seen before. Saw them at warped tour, even if they arnt your favorite band its definatly worth seeing them live.As hellsman said I dont have to listen to Greenday either. I dont subject myself to television or radio, its bad in some respects like I didnt know about the tornado hitting America until one of my friends brought it up a week later but good in thers because I dont have to watch/listen to media bull shit and inane crap that destroys my brain. My sister unfortunatly likes greenday so if I go up into her room I am confronted by a big picture of billy joe dressed like a tranny since he wears makeup like a girl. I used to be a big fan of dokie back when their lyrics were fun before they got all prechy and talked about shit I dont care about. They got old fast anyway, much better bands out there. Their new CD and how much of a pansy billy joe looks makes me hate them even more.
-
punks & makeup is pretty old school, although it was never my thing.Mike Ness still wears eye-liner for some reason.
-
I like Midnight Oil, System of a Down, and Blackeyed Peas. Three Doors Down has a good song; they're on the other political wing, along with Marilyn Manson. They must be pretty lonely.
