Hi,My 3 yrs old kid ingested a coin (2 cm in diameter). It's past 2 days in his stomach. Will it be passing out on it's own through the system? If not then how it is going to be taken out and what are the complications.I am really worried and tensed in this matter. Thanks in advance.RegardsVikrant

well if it was my kid i would definitely get a doctors advice, there are so many things that could happen, not sure if it would pass through his system, but it could do a large amount of damage on the way through, hes only little and thats a pretty big piece of metal..........get him to a doctor ASAP. Let us know how he is, good luck.

Well thanks for your reply. We took him to the doctor the same time it happened. he was under observation for couple of hours and then they discharge him once the coin drifted into the stomach through the food pipe. According to the doctor it will pass by his stool. I have been asked to watch his passes and need to take an abdominal X-ray after 2 days. Was just wondering if anyone got any clues about such incidents. Thanks for uor concern.i appriciate.I will definately let you know about the status.Vikrant

Hi,How are you doing? Last evening the coin came out. Thanks to GOD and the wishes from all of you. I am now much releived. Thanks againVikrant

fantastic news..........im so glad everything turned out ok..........hugs

That's good news.It would be safer if two dimes and a nickel came out after you swallowed a quarter.
-
The vending machine at work gave me a chuckle. If you put a nickel in and hit the return button you get a dime back. If you put a dime in, you get a nickel. I was hoping if I put a quarter in, I'd maybe get a dollar, or at least something more.... I got the damn quarter back. What goes in must come out right?
-
What goes in must come out right?Yes, unless the machine is creating or destroying matter. If the machine is a coin-operated cyclotron, then...maybe...
-
Unfortunately, with vending machines, you can often put something in and get nothing out.

That's because they have little black holes inside.
