A close friend of mine was rushed to hospital the other day and they found that she had pancreatitis. I know that this can be very serious and I'm very worried about her.I'm just asking if anyone here has ever gone through it and what was it like, how easy/hard was it to recover? Also if anyone has just general information about it, I would be happy to hear about it. She is 17 and one of the best friends I've ever had. She was told today that she will have to stay in hospital a bit longer for more tests and its just so unnerving to see her with needles in her arms and stuff.(I'm not sure if its acute or chronic pancreatitis.)

My Mum has had to deal with pancreatitis (which as you probably know is an inflammation of the pancreas). She had to go to the emergency room for it once because the pain was so bad; she has flare-ups every now and then (usually caused by something that she has eaten). I'm not the best at explaining medical things, so I found a website that will be able to explain the symptoms, treatments, and causes to you better than I would. I hope your friend gets better soon hon. Pancreatitis
