It just got done throwing up so we were trying to calm it down by rubbing its belly (it likes that) and we discovered a red bump as big as a dime (the dog is a male unfixed black lab) on its stomache. He doenst really have a history of medicle problems. Hes turning 3 in april. He used to have a really tiny bump on his nose (the size of a beebee) but it went away. My friend has no money to take it to the vet so we need to know two things: 1) What is it2)How much does it cost to fix it (i love the dog so im going to pay for it) Oh, I almost forgot its deeppink/red and prefectly circularI also tried to get a picture, but it didnt like the camera.http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a170/o0nightmare/Image001.jpgthat was the best one he would let us get

My friends dog...
-
Well pretty bad picture but anyways, it's probably nothing serious. If it were to be removed, it would probably cost at least 2-3 hundred dollars. Vets aren't cheap.
-
Could you get a picture that's in focus?
-
I wish i could but he wont let us get near him with the camera we were lucky we got that
-
It could just be ringworm... I can't really tell, though...
-
Its not a ringworm or a skin tag (hes been de-wormed and i doesnt fit the description of a skin tag really)
-
Your picture doesn't tell us much, and "a red bump" doesn't tell us much either. Is there a scab? Is it oozing? Can yout touch it? Is it hard?
It could be a boil. It could be a tumor. It could be a scrape that got infected. It could be something else.
You really can't approach him with a small camera?
-
If we pull the camera out he runs into the back yard or gets very angry and decides to threaten us with a shoe until we put it down. Its not a scab, It is hard hair is on it so its not like a scar. Its brand new, he loves his stomache rubbed so everyone is always petting it. its not oozing, doesnt seem to bother him when we touch it or pull the hair back to see it

That's really weird, about the camera. If he's afraid of the flash, just turn it off, and hold the camera very still. If he doesn't like the smell of it, open a can of tuna nearby. If it goes away in a couple of weeks, then don't worry about it. If it doesn't heal, then it needs to be looked at by a vet.
-
He used to be in an abusive home, and he wont go near cameras, broomse and several other objects. We'll do that. Man this dog had better get better i love it too much

I would just keep an eye on it for now. My grandma had a dog that developed a tumor. It got really big (like the size of a small apple) before the vet decided to remove the tumor. I don't know if you said how long it has been there, but I would just watch it to see if it gets bigger in the next couple weeks.

I had a Lab before....and I forget the name of what it is that your dog has....but my dog had one in between the webbing of one of his paws...it was an exposed bump that was raw....he kept licking at it and the doc said it was going to get infected if it wasnt taken care of, so we had it removed. If its not exposed (as in raw or broken open) you dont have to worry about things as of yet. Hope that helps. Sorry havent been around for a while wish I would have seen this eariler

Just because your dog had a bump that was nothing serious, how do you know that the one under discussion is not serious?
My cat had a little bump, and it turned out to be (slow growing) malignant tumor, according to the biopsy results. The vet removed the whole thing (which is what was biopsied) becuase it was suspicious; he did not know that it was cancer.

It hasnt gone away and seems to be getting larger so we're not gonna wait at all anymore, the only vet we could get is Tuesday at 6pm, that will have to work. I doesnt seem to be irritating him at all he doesnt lick it or pick at it so that makes me feel a little better.
