Hello all...
I've done a search, and haven't really found anything pertaining specifically to my problem.
*WARNING* A wordy and not very pleasant description follows, read at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any vomiting resulting from my post, lol.
I am a 21 year old uncircumsized male, and I've been recently diagnosed with genital warts on my foreskin. The doctor prescribed Condylox (Podofilox) .5% gel. I have applied it to the warts twice a day for 3 days as per the instructions. From what the doctor said, I though they might get a little irritated and then start to recede peacefully. I was wrong!
They started turning black on the second day of application. on the fourth day, after completing the 3 day application regimen, they were completely black and mushy, sticking to my under-wear and leaving dark blood stains on my underwear. That was wednesday(yesterday). Today, they aren't really there anymore, but they have left these patches of really sensitive, raw, pinkish/redish skin behind. This is very sensitive/painful, and they are very slightly oozing some sort of pus/liquid. This liquid then dries to my underwear, making everytime I have to take him our or change clothes a very painful experience.
The skin around these areas is white and peeling. I had one small wart on the *inside* of my foreskin, and I followed the directions saying to let the medicine dry before letting it touch normal(non-wart) skin again, but there appears to be white/peeling skin on the head, where that one wart may have rubbed the gel on the skin. This leads me to think that all this peeling is definately caused by the gel, and not by a fungal infection (which I occasionally have, because I'm uncircumsized).
Does anyone know if this is a normal reaction to Condylox or any other genital wart treatments? The side effects list said that there could be some irritation and swelling, but I think this is a little extreme. It's to the point that I am using toilet paper to make little "panty-liners" so the skin sticks to the the tissue instead of my under wear.
This is very inconvenient and painful!! I won't be able to afford a follow up doctor's visit for a couple more weeks, and was hoping some one would have some insight. there's one part of the biggest wart that is still there, so I'm supposed to start another 3 day application regimen on it sunday. I REALLY don't want to put anymore of this stuff on my wang if I don't have to!
I'm also curious as to whether I should use peroxide or any kind of anti-septic/cleansing solution on the raw skin. I don't want it to get infected with some other bacteria. I'm trying to keep it as clean as possible...
Let this be a lesson to anyone who likes to have unprotected sex, GENITAL WARTS ARE NO FUN!!!!!
Thanks ahead of time for any help/advice.
