I've been with my girlfriend for 2 1/2 years. I have never had any simptoms of herpes until one day. I was sitting on my couch and my crouch began to itch like crazy. I just scratched away, not thinking anything of it. I ended up looking at my penis and saw I had drawn blood. It took forever to heal. It finally healed but several months later, I had some what of a reacurrance. It was in the same spot. Small pimples and red like a rash. It doesn't hurt when I urinate and it's only uncomfortable not painful. There is very little puss almost like a sty when you pop them. It takes roughly 2 weeks for it to go away. Now I'm noticing its happening more frequently. I have noticed that it shows up sometimes after I masturbate, but not right away. Maybe a day afterwards or so. I know I need to see a doctor. But this has been reacurring for little over a year now. She has showed no signs of herpes or my rash. I'm really getting upset. I want to cut my penis off if this persists. I'm 24 and ashamed to have whatever it is I have. I also noticed that I haven't had my usual cold sores I get once a year in 2yrs. I dunno what to think. Anyone have similar experiences? Thanks ahead of time.

I hope this isn't herpes!

It sounds like it might be - time to get to the doctor and get tested. If you test positive then your gf should get tested too, even if she has no symptoms. It's possible that you have transferred some of your cold sore virus to your penis, though usually the oral type gives only a mild infection in the groin, not frequent outbreaks.Acyclovir cream can help keep the outbreaks under control.

where can I buy the cream?

This may be unrelated to my previous post, but I noticed that my skin is very dry and itches all over. I even noticed it on my skrotum. Doesn't feel like bites or anything. I wash regularly and try to eat fairly healthy. I'm hopeing this may have something to do with my genital area. Also does herpes come and go in the same spot or does it travel? I only seem to get breakouts on my lower shaft area, never on the tip/head. Thanks again!

It's a prescription. You do need to see a doctor about this.
