Need Help Gaining!!

Im in the same situation as you. I weigh 125 lbs, ive tried drinking those shakes and they have done nothing to me. al though i only drank them for a week or two... but i tried working out and all ive gotten were just some muscles but you can still see how i have no meat unless i flex or something.
Oh and im pretty sure that the bar is called a bench press

Welcome to A2A, Osir1sSk8r. Some people are naturally skinnier than others. Working out will definitely add muscle, but you may never look like Helmsman (who is built like a large office building). I'd stay away from dodgy pills - you don't know what is really in them.
-
yeah I decided not to buy them, it sounds like a bad idea for a 16 year old kid to be on testosterone. I've been drinking those milk and powder mix's I purchased the strawberry flavour, oh how I wish I got chocalate, I drink have way through the strawberry and I feel like vomiting.

The bar with the weights on either end is called a barbell. I'm in the same situation as both you guys, about two months ago I weight ~56kg (123lb) and am 6 foot. I now weigh 62kg (137lb), not the best increase many people can get, but for us hardgainers, it's awesome. From what I've learnt in the recent past, the most important thing is determination. You said you took protein shakes for 2 weeks, that would do absolutely nothing. If you're dead set on gaining weight, buy one of those 11lb buckets and finish it, you might see something then. More importantly though, just eat. Eat as much as you can, and continually eat throughout the day, snacking all the time.If muscle is what you want, I highly recommend joining the Gym. You may have dumbells and a barbell, but to me personally (you might want to take somoene else's opinion on this, like Helms) I wouldn't rely on it. If you really want to gain weight, you're going to be doing squats and other nasty things. To be doing that you really need the right equipment, and often many home weight sets don't even pack enough weight for a good squat. As I've said, if you're determined, you will gain weight, but you've got to stick it out for a few months. You won't see results in two weeks by lifting dumbells at home.As I've said, you two are hard gainers, try searching "hardgainer" or "ectomorph" on google, and read a few articles. If you're still interested in gaining weight, here's the routine Helm's put me on, and so far it's worked brilliantly.http://org.ntnu.no/styrke/program/cc.htmAnother piece of advice is to find a buddy to go with. That's how I started, in my opinion motovation is the biggest factor in determining weight gain/loss.

I weigh 10 stone (140 pounds) and im 5ft 11 tall.
Again, same boat, im aiming to weigh aprox 12 stone (168Ibs) I think the way to get bigger for hard gainers isnt just big weights but its a lot of heavy cardio work whilst being dedicated to using a weight gain formula alongside your regular meals.
The theory being your body is the way it is because of how you use it. For example, a bookworm doesent need to be big because books arent heavy your body will adjust to what you require of it.
If your a unactive person your not going to need to eat much because your not using much energy, i say get serious with excersise with a 50:50 cardio/weight program, your body will require more energy so your energy stores will grow to compensate for the aditional storage required.
Obviously cardio work will burn calories so youll need to make sure you take plenty of weight gain formula. In my routine i get aprox 2000 calories from weightgain with milk alongside my daily meals. You've gotta be willing to push yourself hard,,, real hard.
Good luck!

Honestly, I don't know about doing the 50:50 cardio to gain weight. I'd say doing another set of squats, or even taking a nap (that's if muscles are already hurting) would be a much better option than running for half an hour.If you want proof on what works, just look around the gym. All the big, built guys are in the weights room. The leaner, thinner, more atheletic guys will by running the treadmill (and probably doing weights too, but on a lesser scale).Besides, if you do a big weights rountine, you should use up a lot of energy, and work up an appitite just fine. If not, you're probably not pushing yourself hard enough.

wow I read the defination of an ectomorph and I am of the extreme ectomorph category it was like 100% me, I am skinny, long fingers, long toes, long arms, long neck, and I have a large brain. now that I know I am a ectomorph I am researching plans that are better suited towards me, and I now know that my crazey fast weight loss after eating is common for all ectomorphs / hard gainers. Thank you AtA this forum has inreased my knowledge of my self and the goals I am trying to achieve
-
I have a large brainDid you add that to see if we were paying attention?
-
I was just proving how exact of an entromorph I am, I am new to the topic of bodybuilding, do you guys believe the body type theory by William Sheldon ie. Ectomorphs, Mesomorph, and Endomorphs ?
-
Nope I have yet to read it, due to the fact im a Newbie here, but it looks excellent, I shall read it right now

Very Excellent Article
-
I never heard about ectomorphs having large brains, and I have no idea how you'd measure the volume of your brain without using a C/T or MRI machine...but, whatever. It is not unusual for adolescents to eat massive amounts of food but put on weight very slowly, especially if they're still growing. How many calories do you think you're consuming each day? In another thread from the last couple of days, I suggested nutrition drinks, whey powder, and Scandi Shakes (a high-calorie powder that you mix with milk). If you're consuming thousands of calories a day, and you're not very active, and you're still not gaining weight, then you may have a hyperactive thyroid. That's something that you ought to discuss with your doctor.

You may have already seen this site, i dont know but it may help you... http://www.skinnyguy.net/I have the PDF, the product he's selling, with all the shit you need to know if you want it.
-
nope never seen it, ill check it out now...
-
That Web site looks like one big advertiesment for the crap he's selling. You can buy whey protien powder, etc. all over the place. You don't need to buy that guy's stuff. However, I agree with the "eat a lot" idea.

I've never really seen a horse eat, but yea I have been improving my eating habits by bringing and actuely eating lunch at school, I used to just do homework at lunch, now I got a pen in one hand and a roast beef sandwich in the other   aswell as slipping in lots of other meals in my schedule.
-
Well I guess i'm the lightest person here at 105lbs at 16 years old.
-
height is most importanat, but yah i have aswell used ANthony Ellis Program ... (skinnyGuy) i used for 2 - 3 weeks, and then got down with the flu which totally screwed up all my work :frowning:
Haven't worked out since... lol
but i gained 7 pounds in 3 weeks ... not bad i guess... i am gunna start working out on same rountine again, just with no leg excersizes due to me being scared it will stunt my growth..
The Program Anthony Ellis had me on was a full meal every 3 hours, and after 2 - 3 weeks, man its tiring, but i guess its worth it
im at 112 - 5'5 - 15 years old now.

Hi, guys i'm excatly the same as fallen i'm 16 and weight like only 55kg which is really light. I was hoping if u guys could answer this question. I've been taking this product Weight Gainner which i got from GNC which says it can help me put on weight. I've been taking this product for almost 2 months now, i have seen some improvement but the thing is i am not going by directions on the product as the 3 Cups full of the powder is too much for me as it tastes crappy if too much is added into my drink when i go to the gym. I was wondering if i should stick to the directions? Or should i jus continue my own directions which is 2 cups.
