Like... when would a girl want to call you that? Is it primarily as "friends" or could it be something else? There's a girl that's called me it more than a couple of times, and my friends all have different perspectives on that word.
-
What is the intention of "babe?"
-
honestly it depends on the girl. Some girls i know call me babe and we're strictly just friends, some girls call guys they like that, and some just call their bf's that. Its really very general
-
"Babe" is too baywatch for me ... I use the term Baby
-
I agree, it all depends on the person saying the "pet name", whether she may like you or not. Does she, or have noticed her saying it to other people?
-
Its just a word. It has no particular strings attached to it except those the speaker attaches.
-
I've noticed her say it to a couple of other people (online), but she doesn't say it to just anyone, so I was just wondering. Thanks for the clarification though!
-
my guy friends call me "babe" I don't like that so I try to make them call me abi or something but ah... they don't listen as usual. My bf does too but in some other way.
-
Well, I don't call her babe. I think that when a guy does it, it's sort of like "ownership" or something. I have a big feeling that she likes me, though, which I can explain. It's not really the whole "babe" thing, but she's called me that more than once, and I was just wondering.
-
i have some friends (girls) that call me cutie, sweetie, sugar and honey. never been called babe though but it's nt that different i'd think than cutie or sweetie. at least there not calling me a ass hole LMAO i'm ot going to say wut my gf calls me it';s embarissing.. ..but then she is my gf not just a friend. lol

Ok, just to enhance the "friendly name calling" business. We call each other "yolk" because on an IM conversation, she accidentally said "yolk" instead of "folk." We both found that hilarious, and it's been from that. I speak German, she speaks Spanish. So, she calls me "yema" (yolk in Spanish), and I call her "dotter" (yolk in German). NOWOW, she calls me a variation of my name, and I call her a variation of her name. So, basically, we switch off from "yolk" to "yema/dotter" to "variation." What about that?
-
I think you should stop wondering and start asking her some questions.
-
What questions besides asking her out? I'm ready to ask her out, but I need to see her in person, first. Thanks for the advice, man.
-
Um... there's always the option of calling her by her actual name... or her nickname. I don't know just a suggestion.
-
The option of calling her by her name? Well, I mean, she likes me calling her these special nicknames.
-
Oh well that all depends on your relationship with her. My friends and I have nicknames for each other based on experiences and we have some really ridiculous names. It depends what she likes. Just think of something cute it can't be that bad. Like you said before "babe" is fine too.
-
Ooohh. I know what you are saying now. It's not the issue of my finding a name to call her, I was just wondering what she intended when she called me "babe."
-
In reply to:we have some really ridiculous names. i get called tinkerbell sometimes nick names can't get any worse.
-
oh buddy you have no idea lol there's three of us that mostly hang around so we have funny bunny, yummy bunny, momma bunny... long story. Spizz, abzeeze, chubbles, beaver, doll, smooches, abness, ali-son, hershey kisses... the list goes on I've been called oreo. It's not exactly a nice "word".
-
I call every guy babe! it just a word to me! andd ya! and if peoplee get the wrong idea and ask me what i mean about it i'll tell them stright up if i like them or not..
