so i am a bit scared that i may have genital herpes. About 4 days ago I fooled around with and had unprotected sex with a guy....although becuase we were both intoxicated he couldn't "perform" so that ended.....but anyways the day after I shaved my bikini line down to my buttocks. Well, since then I have noticed some bumps on my buttocks and it is scaring me. I often get some razor burn from shaving down there but this time it seems extreme.....however I feel like I had some bumps that were razor rash that hadn't cleared up yet before this whole sitation occured. They really don't hurt but I am concerned. The bumps are slightly red but not full of puss or anything. And the thing is that I have had sex with this guy before, a while ago but I never got anything then......Ok, well I am scared and don't know what to do, please please help me!?

According to the NIH's Web page on genital herpes,In reply to:SYMPTOMSSymptoms of herpes are called outbreaks. The first outbreak appears within 2 weeks after you become infected and can last for several weeks. These symptoms might include tingling or sores near the area where the virus has entered the body, such as on the genital or rectal area, on buttocks or thighs, or occasionally on other parts of the body where the virus has entered through broken skin. They also can occur inside the vagina and on the cervix in women, or in the urinary passage of women and men. Small red bumps appear first, develop into small blisters, and then become itchy, painful sores that might develop a crust and will heal without leaving a scar.Sometimes, there is a crack or raw area or some redness without pain, itching, or tingling.Other symptoms that may accompany the first (and less often future) outbreak of genital herpes are fever, headache, muscle aches, painful or difficult urination, vaginal discharge, and swollen glands in the groin area.Often, though, people don’t recognize their first or subsequent outbreaks. People who have mild or no symptoms at all may not think they are infected with herpes. They can still transmit the virus to others, however. What you have sounds a lot more like razor burn.

well, its been over a week now, i still have bumps. i dont know if they are really getting better or not....i almost feel like i have gotten some more, on my butt. there is one big one that is reddish-white and kinda shiney....although i feel like i have actually had that one for a few weeks which makes no sense.....i dont think that razor burn would last this long.....

update: its about a week and a half since these bumps appeared...they seem to be going down and are mostly flesh colored with a little bit of redness, but yesterday and today the whole area has been kind of itchy, i read online that herpes tend to break out into open sores and then crust over which i dont have but....i am relaly starting to get worried now esp. since i have had them for this long....i really dont think that ingrown hairs and razor bumps last this long, do they!?.....i am probably going to go to a planned parenthood to get tested.......is that a good safe idea?? this whole thing is really stressing me out now......any more advice would be well appreciated asap!!!!!!!!!!!

> is that a good safe idea?
Sounds good to me. If it's nothing, then at least it will put your mind to rest.
