well over the past few weeks ive been extensively trying to gain weight and I have been succeeding,im 16,male, 120 pounds now, 4 weeks ago i was about 110, but I fear all the work ive done is going to go to waste, because i feel like im coming down with the flu or something and last year, around this time when I usualy get sick , I had caught the flu and over 4 days of being bed ridden and puking, I went from weighing 105 to nearly dropping below 95 pounds, I dont want something like that to happen again, especcialy with all the work I have done to gain weight... So does anyone have any tips on how to maintain your weight if you are sick?

Getting sick and loosing weight

You'll probably want Helm's advice on this, but as far as I know you can't help but lose strength when you're sick. Best thing you can do is keep your food intake up, so that muscles have at least some fuel and don't waste away. Glutamine is supposedly good for keeping muscle mass, but you should be taking the whilst you're working out, not start when you're sick.Just keep at it, I'm sure you won't lose as much as you expect. You have to lift for life if you want to keep the weight, so you'll gain it back eventually anyway.

yes during these past few weeks that I have been gaining weight I have been sure to work out aswell, I just felt like noting that. But yea whats the point of keeping up my food intake if im just going to puke it out?

yeah ive had the same to me, i was working out on a strict scehdule and eating like a madman and went from 105 --> 112 pounds in 2 weeks ... then i caught the flu and went back to 105 ... "all my work has gone to waste" is exactly what i said. haven't worked out on a schedule since lol ... beeen over 6 months. BTW .. im at 112 now
