Some of us were waiting excitedly the other night for my pregnancy test to come back. (Which sadly came back neg.) It's days later and I still haven't received my monthly bill. The problem is I'm experiencing some pain in my lower abdomen, not appendix area, especially in certain sexual position, but also just walking or lying down.I have an appointment with my OB/GYN on Wednesday but I'm starting to worry.

Worried...
-
Ah! Omg i hope everything works out. hugs
-
well i hope everything is ok. if the pain persists or gets worse i would advice going in quicker. you cant mess around with stuff like that
-
Thanks. I'm sure it's just a cyst. And I don't mind the surygery if they need to. I'm mostly concerned that if it is a cyst, they'll want to give me meds and I'm still nursing my daughter 2x a day. It won't be easy to just cut her off. And if it's worse I might not be able to have any more kids. I should complain about not being able to have more kids. I have two, one of each. I'm just a little greedy I guess.

I doubt one day will make a big difference in something like this. And it's a strange dull pain. Not excruciating. If it wasn't for as bad as it hurts during sex I could actually live with it. Not that I'd want to but I could.
-
How long has it been going on for? It could just be a muscular pain or something.. I hope everything is okay!!!
-
awww that must be sooo hard. Have you done another test, the first one could have been wrong, and it could explain the ache. Oooooooo I hope it was wrong.
-
Hey one day can make a difference. i take nothing health related easy. With so many health problems in my family ive learned.

A few weeks ago it hurt a little but it want away. I have IBS problems so I didn't think anything of it. But when it hurt again during sex I thought it might be more. That was Sunday night. I called my OB/GYN first thing Monday morning. They said come on Wednesday. And I've been doing a lot of research on this type of problem and it seems unlikely it would be cancer and most likely a cyst. In which case unless something changes, more sever pain, fever, that sort of thing it'll be fine until tomorrow.I did not take another preg test. I've never had one tell me I wasn't when I was. I've even taken one before I was late and it came back positive. (Lots of hormones I guess.) At any rate they'll give me another at the GYN's. And I was do for my annual anyway. 17 1/2 hours to go. And I'll let you guys know what she says. Which will mostly likely be either we need to schedule an ultra-sound or a Laparoscopy.
-
Cancer? That would be way at the bottom of the list.
-
What's on your list?
-
Not really sure...could be a lot of things, or nothing. But cancer of some type seems very unlikely.
-
That's what I said. It's just one thing that popped up in my search. It's rare for over 50's and much more so for under 50.
-
I'm really starting to get angry with the whole dortor profession. There is something very wrong with me and yet they all keep saying is nothing don't worry about it. I have vertigo so bad I get sick in stores from looking up. I've been having a problem with that for about a year and there's nothing wrong. Don't worry about it.Plus some other misc. problems. Are they lazy or what? I have insurance so it not the money thing? WTF!
-
I've decided to just make appts with: Gastrologist, Neurologist, ENT, Cardiologist and an Endocrynologist. One of them has to have a clue right? Thank G-D for PPO's.

Why does the US have so many more specialization than we do? We have a lot more general practicioners than specialists, that way we don't need to see 5 different doctors to get an answer to something.
-
My GP is the one that keeps telling me it's not a big deal to get dizzy and all most pass out because I looked up. They're great for everyday problems but they suck if there is a real problem.
It's way better to go to someone who really one spends his time looking at area. He's more familiar with any weird out of the blue things. -
Actually, part of the problem here I think is that we just don't have enough of some specialists. The major reason that we have such long waits. In Alberta, our health funding isn't nearly as good as it could be (we're the richest province in Canada and we have the 2nd largest oil reserves in the world). We have had a conservative provincial government since long before I was born, and the same party leader for almost as long as I've been alive. The primary reason people want more two-tiered health care in this province is that there are long waits (many months usually) to get in to get a lot of operations done, but the reason for this is because the conservative government (which is largely pro two tiered health) doesn't spend enough on health care so we don't have enough doctors. Now, federally, we have a conservative minority government although it's damn near having a majority of the seats. I'm worried about the direction our health care will take. That was a long off topic rant, but I felt like saying it for some reason.
-
You guys spend a lot less on health care (per capita) than we do. If you'd spend a relatively little more, you could have all the specialists you want, and still spend a lot less than we do.
-
I know, and that's why I'm afraid of a two-tier system. Our system is a lot more efficient, aside from the costs of the few people who's treatments cost massive amounts of money. We don't have to deal with insurance companies, who tend to add at least another 15-20% to the cost of health care. Not only that, but our system is able to purchase medical supplies and setup the entire system in an efficient and planned out way. Two-tiered for operations like knee rotator and hip operations may begin to destroy that since I'm afraid that it will only be the starting point, and the private sector will expand. More operations will be covered under private, more doctors will go private, insurance companies will get involved, and the whole system will become inefficient. My only thing against universal public health care is that there are more treatments coming out all the time that are costing more and more money. Eventually, we won't be able to afford all of those expensive medications and surgeries that cost hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to pay for them. Medical science is advancing faster than our ability to afford it is.
