Weird things are happening.- All of a sudden the text in some posts are going way off the right end of my screen, causing me to have to scroll over to read the post. But a time or two the scroll bar wasn't appearing so I had to switch to threaded view to read it.- Tonight the little red numbers aren't disappearing even after I leave a thread and go back to the thread index.Anybody else?

Everything is fine on my comp. you should check ur browser. Are you using mozilla firefox? i use that one i love it
-
Nope. Try restarting your browser.

Are you using mozilla firefox? i use that one i love it I've been using it for a few years, and I'm getting tired of some of it's wierdnesses. I'm leaning more and more toward Opera (the regular version of which I think is free now). It seems to be a lot more stable.
-
Really? what has been happening withh ur browser? i havent had anything wierd thus far. i had to switch to it from explorer, that was just horrible
-
I had that the other day, clear your cache and start over.
I emptied my cookie file before restarting my computer, now if I coul just get my f key to stop randomly asserting itself and adding a f here and there to my typing, make enough typos all on my own with no additional help from my computer -
IE is certainly the worst of all. But Firefox crashes occasionally (I've never had Opera crash), and it seems to have a problem where if you leave it open for a long time and keep opening and closing tabs, it starts eating more and more memory, until windows starts slowing way down because it's starved for memory. Exiting the browser and restarting fixes that problem, but it's still a pain. Also, Firefox lost Netscape Navigator's ability to do useful things when printing, like setting a different font size. Since my laptop has a relatively small screen, I keep the font at a size that's way to big for printing. Opera doesn't exactly let you set a different font size like Navigator did, but it lets you scale the page, effectively doing the same thing. Firefox kind of lets you scale things, but it doesn't seem to work as well. The crashing thing is not a completely fair comparison, since I've used Firefox a lot more than Opera, but Opera's zero crashes is still pretty impressive.

Every browser I've seen has a built-in spelling checker available, including Firefox and Opera. (The one for Firefox is OK, but Opera's seems to be better. Neither can touch Microsoft's Office spell checker.)
-
you told me that once before but Ill be damned if I can find the plug in for that to dl it. care to give me a clue as to where to obtain this?
-
i always close my browser. i open 3 tabs at the most at a time, so thats probably why i havent had a problem
-
Hey That happened to me too!
-
SpellBound is a spell checker for Firefox.ata7> i open 3 tabs at the most at a time, so thats probably why i havent had a problemI sometimes have a lot of tabs open, and a lot of opening and closing goes on, and the memory starts disappearing.Helms> I saw the scroll issue yesterdayThat always happens if you stick a wide object into a posting, like a wide photo or a long URL. (It's better to use the UBB code URL thingie for long URLs.)

I've restarted my browser several times. Still doing it.
I'm using Firefox.
What is the Opera of which you speak?Chance, I noticed that and thought maybe your left forefinger was on steroids!
-
ok but any ideas about the one for IE?I checked microsoft downloads to no avail and tried to locate it thru my manage add ons tab but only lets me update or disable add ons not find new ones.
-
Opera's Web siteI like it. Some people swear by it. It takes a bit of getting used to if you're accustomed to Firefox (which I'm using right now). I think the spelling checker plug-in is also there...not sure.
-
I may just download it because of the picture of that broad advertising the mini
-
Doesn't Google have a toolbar plug-in with spell checker for IE? Or is that Yahoo? There's a thing called IEspell. Check Google for others.Seriously, you should dump IE. It totally sucks ass as a browser, it totally sucks in in complying to standards, and its security vulnerabilities totally suck ass. I can't remember the last time I visited a site (other than Microsoft's, for downloading and installing their numerous software patches).Any site that has a "best viewed with IE x.x" icon was written by someone who's not fully clued in to the HTML, XML, etc. standards.

Yeah Steve, but text should wrap anywayA piece of text (like a URL) without a break (space or tab) will not wrap. It will just stretch out the table cell (and thus, the whole column), and Biggie Size the whole page.

Well so of a bitch!I thank you greatly and it works pretty damned well!Iv been looking at other browsers lately deciding what I prefer and what I want to try, Opera is what I been looking at, there is another one I liked but only a hand full of pages support it so I shall have to avoid it for now.

Yes, like you said. Images and links or words (like when someone types Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... ) HAHA without spaces stretch the screen way out. I usually edit them to make fit.
