AHHH! I have 2 hours before I have to pack up my computer and take it to a LAN party. Is there a way to password protect a folder? I can't check the box that says "Make this folder private." I'm using XP Professional. I won't have time to respond, so thanks in advance!

Hiding/Password Protecting a Folder
-
Go to the folder properties and mark it as hidden. Then under the Explorer window select Tools > Folder Options > View Tab .... mark the radio button that says "Do not show hidden files and folders"

hey, thanks Helms, that was something that I was looking for a while ago... not as important now but still cool.
What I will say though is that "folder lock" and simmilar programs are not fully secure. I own a SW package that makes every move on the PC transperent.
Ain't paranoia grand?! -
Its only paranoid actions if if you think someone is out to get you, if someone is then its being shrewd!you have a future x wife, your just shrewd.

If he doesn't have a keystroke logger on his PC, he should be OK. If he does have a keystroke logger, he's screwed either way.
-
.......and not in a good way.

What is a Lan party?
-
I kinda thought the same thing.. No Offense!!!

What is a Lan party? its where you take your PC to a place, where other people take theres, and hook em all up to play multiplayer games.........i think.
