I havnt seen him in nearly a decade! I was well nervous waiting in town with my mum for him and his wife and young kids. I hadnt a clue what to expect, I havnt had much of any contact with any of my family except my mum, dad and grandad for most my life, and now I dont have my dad around either. But then if it werent for the brake down of my parents marriage I wouldnt be in Yorkshire where I have a number of relatives, as well as my godfather, who I may get to see now.
It was really good! I didnt get to speak to his family so much, but I spoke to him loads. We got on really well. We share alot in common! Well I guess we are both middle-class white-boys, both have had our lives shaped in various ways by the army (he served with my dad), but whatever the reason we got on really well. I am so happy about it. I've never felt like I have much in the way of a family. I know hes not proper family as such but it was still really special to me.
I asked him to help me choose a suit cos I've never bought a complete one before. Not only did he help me choose he bought it for me
My mum got on really well with his wife, I'd like to get the oppertunity to know her better myself sometime, which i will get cos they have invited us to stay with them on their farm sometime
