Calling in Sick
:scream_cat:
Eww.
I answered you in a PM and no I can't do those puzzles, unless they're spacial relationship puzzles. I don't have the patients to sit and figure that other shit out.
I have never taken a sick day off.. i'm 19 XD. I actually go into work sick..edit just got re employed XD. been out of work for a while now I'm about to start workin on campus again. so.. yeah... when employed I don't screw around.

So it would seem that going to work sick is a sort of a virtue. But actually, it isn't. With all due respect, it's a bit inconsiderate. Unless you work in a secluded room with no contact with anyone else, and don't share a bathroom or kitchen with other employees, you are placing your co-workers at risk of becoming sick. I didn't like my previous supervisor at all, but the one thing he did right was almost insisting that we go home and stay home if we're sick. It's really about courtesy.
If I ever get sick enough that I can't go to work (which it may happen) I'll make it a point to go home. err.. stay home. Or whatever the case may be.edit And although I know this doesn't justify it.. I suppose it is worth mentioning I'm a fairly hygenic person.. I do at least wash my hands, and stay out of peoples faces ect ect which.. in all honesty.. I would rather deal with someone who is sick and hygenic.. then someone who is flat out unhygenic.. not tryin to justify. But, when your options are someone who doesn't wash their hands after playing dice on the bathroom floor.. or someone who is sick but, at least avoids getting in your face and washing your hands.. take your pickThe simple truth though is for anything minor that doesn't require bed and lots of rest... I can't afford to take off.

I, of course, was responding as someone who is plenty of sick time to take if needed. So, you make a good point there. I've actually been there. In a job where I was really sick, but if I took off, I lost money. And usually the jobs with no sick days are the jobs that don't pay a lot, so missing out on 8 hours salary is a big deal.
I mean unless it requires a doctor visit then I can't really afford to take off work...If I can take a shot of tussin and I'm good to go then realistically the body has alot of natural defenses... I would hope that with proper hygene.. and a little bit of precaution from co workers.. they could avoid catching whatever I have.. I mean the immune system is there for a reason..Now if I just so happen to catch ebola or something.. I might take a break off of work.. or if I need to go to the doc.. then yeah. time to take off.I am not gunna go to work with a fever or anything.. but, as to less serious illness.. I was my hands in an ocd fashion.. so just don't get directly in my face or eat after me.. and odds are you won't get sick.. heck probably won't even notice i'm sick..But, if you have plenty of sick time.. then hey enjoy your day off..
I rarely take off work unless I'm taking a few days off for my birthday or unless I'm really sick (which doesn't happen too often). I work six days a week, and I can't afford to take days off because where I work we don't have 'sick days' or 'vactions' or any other thing like that. You take time off at your own risk so to speak, so I can't afford to unless my doctor tells me that I have to stay home and rest.
Normally I care and don't call in sick unless I actually am. I have called in and just told them I need a mental heath day of just doing nothing...Were I work now... I have NO Respect for the owner or my manager and stick it as far up their ass as I possibly can...I don't care!
That's the ticket. Work does not define me, and I'm more than happy to take a "day off" in the mddle of the week. Even though I like my boss, co-workers, and place I work, I like to call in every now and then.
The problem I'm having with taking time off these days is that I'm required to get 3.5 hours of direct time a day. If I take a vacation day or a sick day, I'm 3.5 in the whole. If there is no school because of weather or the flu (which has happened a lot the past few weeks, and possibly again tomorrow), I'm 3.5 in the hole for each day. Right now I'm so much in the hole, I don't know if I'll catch up, so the only times I'll be taking any kind of day off is on a day when there's already no school.Agencies suck.
I don't get it. Where the heck do you work?
I'm a School Therapist. I work 3 days a week in the high school and 2 days at the Alternative School.
Oooohh, I see. I used to work for the shool system, until I realized the new superintendant was gonna be the prick ALLAN BERSIN, so me and like half the force quit.
