How Do I Get Massive Biceps?
-
You forgot one thing, over all arm size....2/3 of your arm size is made up of the tricept. Train the tricept to increase arm size, if you dont you end up looking odd and mishapen since you only trained the bicept and not the tricept (back of your arm)Its the biggest muscle of your arm and adds the most size and is the one that doesnt get too much use in normal daily living, or atlest not enough use to pump it up a great deal.

I can not agree with that statement.
I train my biceps, I have gotten alot of benefit from it.
Of course I'm a climber, I don't train for size but just for endurance. Iv started kneeling at the bottom of a 25' wall and gone hand over hand with out ever using my feet all th way to the top of the wall and I can do it because I do train the bicep.
I'm not big, I don't train for size to impress anyone or get those nice beach muscles :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I threw in the triceps because it just seemed to me that when most people say bicep they don't really know what they are talking about, they want to be big and impressive and when you think of guys posing you image them popping that bicep up to be seen "ooooohhh let me feel that muscle!"
if you want size train the triceps as well.
I can telly you though at the gym (a rock climbing gym I don't hit a regular gym to lift) I get a crowd below me when I pull the ladder trick and if I'm on route pulling dynos and crosses I can hear them below me oohing and ahhing, stupid bastards have caused me some pain watching me because everyone eventually falls and I would rather land on the crash pad then some dumbass who wants a better view of what I happen to be trying to pull off.Anyways, I can see training the bicep depending o what it is you are trying to get for results, I do free weights along with hang boards and ladders and all my specific movements for climbing. I do super 7 curls.
start at full stretch down and curl to just half way 7 times, on the last one curl 7 more from half way to the top and on the last one curl the whole movement from bottom to top. Use light weight because f your going for a full weight curl you will never make it to the end of the 21st curl. even with 25 lbs (dumb bell not barbell) it hurts before I get the 21s rep done.
Chin ups are a staple in my routine and I spend about an hour a night playing on the hang board but thats more for finger and crimp strength then for my arms. I can knock out 20 chin ups or hang for 3 minutes putting both hands (just the tips of my fingers) on one side of a door from, that gives me about 3/3/8 of an inch to pull my self up from.
Bicep training isn't a waste, depending on what it is your trying to accomplish, the body builders do extensive training on that muscle when they are trying to get 'ripped' for a comp too, just depends on what your total goal is. -
thanks for the advice guys....i'll now be doing more tricep workouts as also one of the reasons its because i wanna get a bigger arms....
-
hmmm...i think its because it stands out the most when i'm wearing my shirt...plus my chest now is fairly big(well its bigger than my frens thats all i care) and i was an athlete before so my legs are kinda fine....but the hardest thing in the gym for me is trying to get bigger arms....i've been working out my arms twice a week but still it hardly grows so i'm kinda finding more different and better workouts for my arms and now after hearing triceps take up 2/3 of our arms mass i'm definitely gonna work it harder than before
-
yea i did 21s before...my arms almost fell off....i usually do it 2 to 3 times a month as i heard its really physically demanding...but i'm be trying out super and gaint sets...thanks

Not everyone in the world can train to compete in the bodybuilding arena. If you want biceps massive enough to compete, you are obviously limited by factors such as genetics. Some people are blessed and will quickly develop big guns while others are not quite so lucky. There are those who are so fortunate that they will develop huge arms despite any mistakes that they may make. Then there are those who just do not seem to be able to make any progress whatsoever. But with perseverance and the right amount of intensity, big biceps, massive arms should be attainable.

Yah that is very true.. I see guys in the gym everyday going hard at it and dont get much results.. I got lucky i got biceps once i hit puberty.. it was so awesome.
