I was wondering...since most people consume some source of protein to help build/gain muscle, does it really matter when you consume it as to whether it has any effect on your muscles? For example, if you worked out for an hour, then immediately consumed protein, would it be any different if you consumed protein and then 6 hours later worked out? Like, does it really matter when you intake a source of protein as to whether it affects your muscles?

Question on protein intake in relation to time of.
-
Most importantly you want to spread it out through the day. Your body can only handle so much protein at once.

Taking it as soon as possible after a workout is the best time to take it. Your body requires water to fill your muscles, and rehydrate you, so the protein is more easily absorbed with the water.Don't mix your protein with normal milk, use skim or just water.Otherwise, take it between meals, and just before you goto bed.
