Breast Feeding
-
i think i would breastfed if i ever had a baby because its more beneficial for the baby rather than powder milk, my mum breastfed me. i once watched this program where this woman breastfed her kids till they were like 3 which i think is a bit wierd...i would never do it for that long, i think thats kind of gross..
-
I think I was... didn't really ask.
Both of my kids were, till 6 mo and 1 yr respectively.
It's been shown repeatedly, that breastfeeding is best for the health of the child.
A colleague of mine had a baby about 8 months ago. His wife didn't want to breastfeed because "she was weirded out by the idea". The dumb fool. They had all sorts of problems as the baby couldn't stomach the formula. They had to change and change until they found something that she could take. She's always sick with something or other. They are having a rough time.
Plus it's extremely convenient; no bottles to mess with. No mixing, heating, washing, etc... -
yeah, i was breastfed and i never had problems. whats in the milk along with the nutrients is the mother's natural antibodies so it helps to build an immune system. its what nature wants anyway, i dont see why someone shouldnt do it
-
I was breast fed, don't know how long for though. When I have kids I'd want their mother to breast feed them. I heard somewhere that 1/3 or 1/4 breast feeding mothers have experienced an orgasm from breast feeding. Think about that, you may have given your mother an orgasm.
-
i was breast feed, and when the time is right and i deside 2 pop out sum babies of my own, id breast feed, sooooo much better 4 the kid.oh yer, and my mum did tell me once bout when she was in new enterance in primary school, there was this mum who would come into school everyday and breastfeed her 5 and 6 yr old kids! WRONG! so very very wrong!
-
i wouldnt know about having been breastfed or not and if it is better id rather my future wife do so (and itd save a hell of alot of money) but CuteNCrazy, just think if her kids were like 15 or 16 and were breast feeding them now THAT would be wierd as hell
-
I think breastfeeding is a good idea. Unfortunately, when you are a working mother this is difficult. So I never breast fed either of my kids.
-
Its possible though, My fiances sister had a baby a year ago this last march. she was off work for 6 weeks before returning form amternity leave. we have watched her kid several times since then so she could go here or ther eand she returns the favor for us so we can escape once ina while. When shes not there to feed her baby, she has stored some milk using a breast pump.it may not be teh prefered method of delivery, but this waythe child still gets all the benifits of the mothers milk vs the powder formula.
-
Oh, I know it is possible. It is also a pain in the ass. I just did not want to start my kids on the breast and then have to go through the trouble of switching to formula.
-
why would you switch to formula ?if you use formula you go from that to milk when they are older, wouldnt you go from boob to milk the same way ?
-
Yes, but I know myself. And I would not be able to wait that long. You know, until they could go from breast to milk. That is why I said breast to formula.
-
Ahhhhhhhhhhh.
I thought I was missing something new since I had my two oldest boys. -
I think its unfair that expectant and newly delivered mothers are press ganged into breastfeeding by the nurses and midwives, its their choice, yes it better for the babies, however, there are lots of bottle fed babies that are fine, happy, live long lives etc etc........i think its just wrong that people are felt to be a 'bad mother' if they dont...........I didn't breast feed mine cos they were all in intensive care, and yes i could have expressed etc, but i was too depressed, scared, shocked etc.............If i had been lucky enough to hold my babies after birth, and have them with me i probably would have breast fed, but i didn't get the chance..........Either way, its a choice, and people shouldn't be bullied into doing something they feel they don't want to do.
-
rather if she wanted to*
-
Think about that, you may have given your mother an orgasm. I'd rather not!LOL

Well, it looks like I'm the only one that doesn't care for breastfeeding. As Angel was saying, when I had my first son (now 15) society pressured you into breast feeding. It was the most horrible experience of my life. He was up every hour to hour and a 1/2. He was always cranky and whatever I did to change my diet, as not to upset his stomach, never worked. It lasted about 3 weeks and I gave up. After I put him on formula, he started sleeping around 3 hours a night, and was no longer cranky. I didn't even bother trying with my youngest son. It's a personal choice. And you may end up experiencing what I did, or not. Many women say there's no other way. That it's great for bonding, health, etc. Let me tell you, I felt like a walking, talking baby bottle.I think breastfeeding is a wonderful thing for the right woman, but it just wasn't for me.
-
**a lot of woman find the first few weeks, after being pressured into breastfeeding, miserable with a child that won't settle etc..............to me its not worth it, if a woman doesn't want to do it, then thats that............
As i said i didn't breast feed any of my 3, and havn't given it a second thought, after hearing you and others, i don't think i would have lasted long breast feeding anyway...........so im glad i didn't bother. **

Angel, Sometimes I get really cranky when I’m hungry too... I would definitely suck on your breast any day…..
