A few days ago I got the urge to shave my pubic hairs. I think I might have shaven too close or something because now I've got much more hair sprouting out, usually 2-3 follicles per hole. I tried plucking a few but I'm not sure if it will make matters worse. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do about them so they will grow back in the correct way? Thank you.

Ingrown Pubic Hairs

Dude, I don’t think shaving your pubes was the reason you have many hair follicles growing out of each hole. It’s your genetics. I have that everywhere, especially on my face. I can grow a full beard in 4-5 days. I have to shave twice a day to keep the dark shadow away….I didn't shave off the pubes to find this out about myself... I can't say if there is anything you can do for it except learning to deal with it. Some of us guys are just plain hairy guys. I look like a bear with my shirt off, hence my avatar….You can keep things nice, neat and trimmed down there and try to keep the huge bush from taking over everything, but it will be an ongoing task once you start. I don’t think there is anything wrong with lots of hair. I think it adds some rough and ruggedness to my masculinity…

That's just it though, all the hairs weren't there before. I went ahead and decided to pluck them and I'm still waiting for them to start growing back.

Well, let's hope they don't for you. Then you won't have to worry about it...

Okay, it's been awhile since I posted on this thread. But nothing is solved. Let me explain:I went ahead and plucked all of my pubic hairs. Within a few days they begin to grow back. Only they just don't seem like normal pubic hairs, 'cause if I pluck the new ones it appears as if the root was rather deep in my skin, like, the hair is growing downwards AND upwards. They would also come out pretty easily too like I would barely need to give it a tug for it to come out along with it's 1/4 inch root.I've looked around and I can't seem to find any solution for this. Should I let them grow out completely and just forget about the problem or should I keep plucking them? Being only sixteen I'd rather not ask my parents for some cream or treatment for it, so if there is an easier solution, I would very much appreciate it.

Hair roots are deep, especially in fatty tissue like the pubic area. If you pluck continously over many years some of the follicles eventually get damaged and regrowth ends up patchy, which you may not want some time in the future.

How long did it take you to pluck your pubic hairs? Do you only have a few then or quite a lot?
