It's funny I get bashed by an Admin publically, I defend myself and defend other homosexuals and the thread gets locked, my posted deleted and Helms hateful post remains.I am sorry that's nothing but bull. There can not be double standards that it's okay for an admin to stereotype and bash a class of people but others cannot and not to mention those people cannot defend themselves. It's completely and utterly wrong! And Helms you might not like me, and that's fine. But you should not be allowed to use your authority on these boards to attack me openly or my sexuality and than when I defend myself you delete my post and lock the thread.Yes I am pissed and yes you'll either lock or delete this thread.

This is bull!
-
Tis why stayed out of that thread....I am sorry Eddie, did not read it...no interest in going through that....everyone just started arguing.
-
ya that is crap and which thread?
-
Since my post was deleted, I will repost it since I feel it needs to be read by others. It won’t be exactly the same since I didn’t save the post:Helmsman Posted in another thread: HelmsmaN waves the bullshit flag again.Dude, I live 3 blocks away from Hillcrest (gay community) and train at a gay gym. You can't fool me. Gay men, and women, dress different, act different, and yes even sometimes talk differently. Ha, and they all drive Jeep CJ7's or other little "girlie cars". You tell me that if I go to a gay leather bar or non leather bar I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the gay and the STR8 men. Ha, my butt! It's guys rubbing up on, hugging, kissing and holding hands with other guys! MUCH more so than you see between males and females in a "straight" bar!Grrrrrrrr I'll stop now so as to not offend the sensitive, single minded people that may read this... >HelmsmaN waves the bullshit flag again. And you wave it well...>Dude, I live 3 blocks away from Hillcrest (gay community) and train at a gay gym.Good for you? Just because you live near a gay community does not give you the right to stereotype and give false judgement about a class of people. I am sure if you told the gay “friends’ at your gym everything you just told me, I doubt it would be a pretty sight.>Gay men, and women, dress different, act different, and yes even sometimes talk differently. Ha, and they all drive Jeep CJ7's or other little "girlie cars".That statement is just as ignorant as if I was to say all straight men talk, walk, and dress the same. It’s ridiculous. I dress no different than a straight man, I drive a sporty car, when I speak you cannot tell I am gay and I don’t walk with a “sway”. That whole statement is so wrong in so many ways, and just shows your true intolerance of other people.>You tell me that if I go to a gay leather bar or non leather bar I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the gay and the STR8 men. This statement made me LAUGH! I would hope anyone could walk into a gay leather or non leather bar and be able to pick out the gay men. Considering at least 95% of the men in a gay bar are gay, it wouldn’t be too hard LOL. So yeah, it doesn’t make you special that you can walk into a gay bar and pick out the gay men LoL. WOW.>It's guys rubbing up on, hugging, kissing and holding hands with other guys! MUCH more so than you see between males and females in a "straight" bar!Gee could it be because homosexuals cannot show affection in other public places? If we tried to show affection to our lover in a normal public setting we’d get rude commends if not attacked. So yes when we go to a public place like a gay bar we are going to be more affectionate because it’s something we cannot do openly elsewhere. >I'll stop now so as to not offend the sensitive, single minded people that may read this...Ever thought people wouldn’t be sensitive if people like you didn’t make such ignorant and hateful comments? It’s like you saying all black people walk, talk, and dress different than white people; people would be all over your ass. Yet I defend myself and other homosexuals and you delete my post. Glad we are allowed to civilly express ourselves on these boards.

Honestly Eddie.. I don't think it was you.. or Helms who was the one that took it too far. Or crosses the line with all their rants.
-
umm...wow. ok then...
i guess ur both quite apinionated guys.
ok, i agree with both of u tho. its true there are SOME gay ppl u can tell that they r oviously gay, but not ALL gay ppl u can pick out in a crowd. u cant steriotype ANY group of ppl like that, ull always piss sumone off and there r always exeptions to ur generalisation u no.
i think its kinda sad that gay folk r "frowned upon"if they wanna show afection 4 eachother in public. thats not fair and its that ppl arnt very acepting of ppls differences. i personaly dont have a problem with it, but i no lotsa ppl do..kinda sad -
I'm with you on this Eddie. I mean lets say you and I had exactly the same arguement. It wouldnt get locked because I'm not an admin. This has been an abuse of power.

Eddie, I understand your passion and know first hand how gay people are discriminated against all over the world. I truly feel your pain, but I seriously doubt that you are going to be able to change anyone’s deep bedded personal beliefs about our lifestyle. I think waging a huge crusade will only continue to build animosity between you and Helms. I think everyone here at A2A knows you and understands your vibrant compassion for our lifestyle and for us all having the same equal rights as everyone else. Unfortunately, I know first hand that this kind of change only happens in real small steps. I have learned from loosing personal ground, over many, many years that you need to be able to pick the battles you think you can win. Winning many little battles will lead to winning the war. Things have changed considerably on this board since you became the board advocate for equal human rights. We are forever thankful for your accomplishments. We are accepted on this board and in society more now than ever. I know I have you to thank for a lot of it. However, Eddie, at the risk of sounding weak or to seem like I am rolling over on the subject, I think we, as a gay community, should pull together and agree to just disagree with what some of the “Straight” people on this board advocate. We, the gay community here on A2A know where we stand on this issue and will not back down or be pushed down in silence. I can’t tell you what you should do. Lord knows that won’t work and I know what your answer will be. You know I love you more than my luggage and I will support you and our community until the cows come home. But I seriously think we need to stop kicking the dead dog here. It is causing you so much anguish and birthing animosity among members. Please Eddie. Consider all of the battles you have won for us. Let’s stop kicking this dead dog, okay?Love ya man!

Roc, you know I love ya man! You're one of the members here that made me think twice about leaving and to return. Though I hear the reasoning behind you post, it still bothers me that we allow people who are of authority on a site be allowed to use double standards and use their authority to silence other members when there is no just cause.I can care less if Helms dislikes gay people or has false unrealistic views of gay people, that’s his demon to carry. The point of this post was not really all about defending gay people from his ignorant views because anyone who really understands life and gay people already knew what he said was false. But instead it was about the double standard use of power that has been exploited and used simply to silence me. If it was anyone else who would have replied to his post, defending like I have done, the post wouldn’t have been deleted and the thread would probably still be alive. At any rate, I don’t wish to beat a dead horse. I can tell now it’s pointless to care about one persons power trip, and unrealistic views of gay people because this one person would never listen to a word I say anyways.I just hope in the future other people will not be silenced for simply defending themselves and their community civilly.

Mainly, I believe Eddie is right. I really can't find any stereotypes about homosexuals. It's occured to me several times that someone I knew was homosexual and I couldn't even imagine that. Believing that all the gay men are dressed like the guys from "the blue oyster" club is simply ignorance. Sometimes, you may assume that someone's homosexual, but you're NEVER sure. Simply, stereotypes don't exist and they don't work.On the other side, Eddie should not get so furious with Helms. Helms just has a different opinion, and he needs someone to discuss about it. Of course, erasing/locking threads against your opinion is bad administration, but even admins do make mistakes sometimes. On Helms position, maybe I'd lock this thread because I'd sense a huge flame war.Anyway, the truth is obvious here and everyone shouldn't generaly stereotype other people. Each person can barely be solid to his ideas/character/etc :P

In reply to:
