I just want to know where you guys had your marriage and honeymoon. My sister wants to get away from the city and get married on a beach in California or Miami and her fiance wants to get married in a church in the city. He proposed to her first at a Yankees game lol. But he's now moving towards my sister's idea of where to get married. He's always a sucker for her puppy "innocent" face. And my sis wants to have her honeymoon in Hawaii, Barbados, or Sydney, Australia and her fiance wants to go to Paris, France. But secretly he told us he just wants to take her to 3 of her favorite places a week each. Where does he get the money from? Who knows. But hey, he's a filmmaker so who am I questioning He's one of those "I want to give you the world" type of people... I think he said that to her once.... he did! When we went to Olive Garden. Yeah I remember that. That waitor was BANGING! PAPI CHULO SEXII DADDY! WHOOP WHOOP! TAKE IT OFF! TAKE IT OFF!off topic..So yeah where did you, or your parents get married and have their honeymoon? Just interested.

ah I gotcha. My family is out of control. I don't know the soon to bes have been really super hyper. He just got back from Italy anyway so maybe he's got money to burn. Who knows. "Get me a pink pony made of cotton candy while you're at it huh Drake?" lol
-
rofl yeah I know what you mean. My sister has been on an all time high. I'm telling you, ever since the two of them had gotten back from that film festival and x-men 3 premier they will not shut up. They keep going and going and going and going. Like the engergizer bunny.
-
oh of course I know that! lol when my time comes my marriage and honeymoon will be outrageous. I'll have my marriage like... underwater or in space or something LOL or just in Japan. My honeymoon I'm still thinking about. But my preference will probably change by then.
-
oh you're such a party pooper! stay up all night and party. VEGAS! Yes, yes... perfect honeymoon spot for people who are out of control meaning YOU lol
-
grr I wouldn't make plans for a wedding or honeymoon until the person I was marrying had a say in it... I have a real big problem with things like that for some reason! It's like with kids.. I hate it when people say "I would name MY kid insert name" Its not just your kid, if you are with someone in a relationship, they're going to want a say in what you call them. rant over anyway! LOL. Now being totally hypocritical, I'd like a honeymoon somewhere in scotland or a place like that. Nothing over the top!

We'd been on the grand tour around Europe and a bit of Asia already, so we had our honeymoon close to home, in the next large city. I think there's much to be said for not trying to do too much on a honeymoon. You start off exhausted, stressed and emotional - you need to be able to unwind.

I had a medieval wedding, we decorated a friends barn to look like the "great Hall" everyone came in medieval dress, all the little girls were fairies, we got married outside in a cirlce of stones and flowers, had bubbles instead of confetti, and had a medieval tournament in the evening, which included wheelbarrow jousting, archery and sword fighting............its a day no one will forget, all the invitations went out on parchment sealed with wax, and my wedding cake was a wild boars head (the pics were posted up here somewhere LOL)

Big, fancy weddings are a waste of money. If you can afford it then great, but if you have to save up for it and use credit you're doomed. Put the money into a house or retirement.

don't do it
-
wow guys way to bring down the happiness
-
I doubt I will. Told my mother so yesterday which makes it official.
But if I DID ( hehe) I would want the service in some nice place in Britain, preferably specifically Wales, rather than all these tacky weddings British people have in Spain nowadays. The honeymoon I'd then want to be Switzland! The best place continelte Europe has to offer.

We got married in our local church which was beautiful. We were paying for the wedding ourselves and on a budget as we had a mortgage to pay so it was a pretty small event but still fantastic. We couldn't afford a honeymoon so we went for a few days to Shropshire.
We are hoping to renew our vows next year as it will be 10 years and we are saving up for the big party that we couldnt; afford the first time.
Can't wait!! -
actually Im up for this convo, its osmething that we have been figuring outf the last little while.Id like to take a run away trip to vegas, get shitty and wake up married, she wants it here at home so people can come and then head out for the honeymoon.still arguing over that, the honeymoon I htought was going to be backpacking thru yellowstone, but now its being modified, it maybe new york, or sandiego or san francisco, or fuck only knows where, its all up in teh air and we are paying for all of it but sooner or later I hope to agree on it and get it done.

My wife and I had our wedding in our Serbian church in San Diego. The reception was at the church hall with about 220 guests. We went to Hawaii the next morning for our honeymoon. On the way there, I lost my wedding band becasue it was slightly too large and it slipped of when I was carrying the carry-on case. Our luggage decided to go in the other direction. After several days they found it in Michigan. we didn't get it back until our eigth day into the honeymoon. Didn't matter though, we were either naked, wearing swimsuits, or the couple of articles of clothing we bought. The upsetting part was that my wife put all her jewelry in the suitcase. Luckily no one took it. Oh yeah.. we got a convertible to drive around the first few days. Well we burnt so badly we could hardly move for a couple of days. It ws painful to lie in bed. Needless to say there wasn't much nookie for a while.
Here's an interesting story:
My father was a recent immigrant in the US. My mothers brother-in-law had relatives in the US who knew my dad. They hooked up my mom and dad to write to each other (mom was living overseas). Anyways, after a while they decided to get married even though thay had never seen (other than pictures) or met each other. They set a time and they met in Rome. They were going to get married in a Catholic church, but the church wanted then to sign a form that any children would be Catholics. My dad said forget it so they had a civil ceremony in the Republic of San Marino. They had their honeymoon in Rome and my mom had to wait 6 months until she could get paperwork to come to the US. When she came to the US they had a proper Serbian Eastern Orthodox wedding. -
PFFFFTnot likely.we always work shit out so that we are both appeased or atleast satisfied. niether of us ever gets our way 100%
-
Yeah, I can't really imagine marrying someone without ever having met them. They did it though.LOLLast time was back in 02-03??? can't remember Wish I could go more often, but with vacation time and the cost of flying, it doesn't pay off to go for a short time.

I've never been married, but my sister got married in this church in Lincoln, which was this big echoey building, and all of the stained glass windows were blue, so the inside was blue too. What's funny is the dioscese that this church was in is very strict, and my sister had to pick out very religous, traditional music. However, the piano player didn't make it for the wedding (here was where my mom had a heart attack) and so my cousin played songs that he knew, which was blues. It was pretty awesome.
For her honey moon, she went to Rome. She paid, not us. Her wedding was paid by us, but my mom let her full well know that she had a budget.

Wow, I think ours costed about $5000, give or take a thousand or two.
