okay, so the other day i was on my friends myspace. Her account has been phished but i didnt know posting a comment on someones phished account can lead to yours being phished too- (phishing is when your account is accessed by someone else who runs spam bulletins and comments about penis enlargement and stuff) anyway, i changed my password, and it happened again so i changed it a second time. Then a little while later i try to access my account and it says the passwords incorrect- after several attempts i select 'forgot your password?' so i can get a new one...they never sent the verification email though. I repeated this step several times, supplied alternate email addresses to send it to, got my friend to message tom, nothings working. I just wanna log into my myspace account- making a new account isnt an option. Any advice? This is so frustrating.-ak

i dont really want to to be honest. i have a lot of friends on there (yeah i know bragging about your friend count is lame or whatever, spare me) i like my page a lot, the layout took ages to make perfect, why should i make a new one just because those twats at myspace cant get it right?
practical advice, please

Quote:why should i make a new one just because those twats at myspace cant get it right? Those "twats" put massive amounts of time and effort to not only give you the MySpace that you adore so much, but they give it to you for fucking free! Hackers are everywhere, you can't blame MySpace for having people taking advantage of their system. Massive software companies spend incredible amounts of money to protect their software and it can take a decent hacker just a week to break it!It seems like whoever got into your account has changed you email address, so there isn't any way for you to get it back. The best you can do is try to save your settings before MySpace deletes the account. If you used one of those MySpace pimping sites (oh, how sad...) then you can copy the code from a new account. Just go to your old page and right click somewhere and select View Source and copy the code. Then just save all your pictures back to some folder on your computer and reload them to your new account. For the ones on your main page, if you're using Firefox, just right click them and select "Copy Image Location". Then use Notepad to keep a list of all the URLs.As for your friends, just go to each one and re-add them. It won't take you long, unless you're one of those idiots with a few hundred friends, but I won't make any judgements...

i didnt use a pimping site actually, i made the code myself.and anyway, if they had gotten into my account i would have been told and had my account locked straight away- when you get phished a warning screen comes up. i didnt get the screen so it must be a site error.

Have you checked whether the verification email was treated as spam, and ended up in a spam bin? Do your emails use greylisting, or some other spam detection that might block an automatic email altogether?

i have no emails whatsoever, spam or otherwise.
