Every month I have to lay in my bed... my period can get so bad to the point where I have to lay down or else I will faint or throw up, I cant eat, and my cramps can get soo soo bad. Today I was at work trying not to show it but I couldnt help but start shaking and looking all pale and getting really sweaty. It can be so painful. I do have medicine but it makes me drowsy and sleepy. Its hard because I dont want to do this when I have work and have to get out every once or twice month at work having to call someone else to take my place. and school to if something important happens i wouldnt be able to think or walk! i hate periods.I was wondering if I should switch my medicine to birth control pills? any of you girls can relate to this? what made your periods less painful?

My period can get really bad!

I've heard from quite a few people that birth control pills made a huge improvement on their cycles.

Really? well then i should probably ask my doctor about that. Because my period can really take over things that I need to do, like studying, or tests, or just work and I have to miss some of those things because of it.

A lot of women have started birth control for that reason...and to help keep periods on a regular schedule.

Have you been to the gyno? Really painful cramps can be a sign of something going wrong down there. I had really, really bad cramps too. I would literally have to be in bed for 5 days. Every month I missed days from school, it was horrible. Then my doc started me on a medicine called naprosyn(or naproxen) It made me really drowsy too. Is that what you were on? Fast foward a few years and now im on the pill. Its the best thing since sliced bread! I feel like the women in the tampon/pad commercials. I can run through a field of daiseys now. lol

My wife did that in her teens and it made a huge difference.
