Lol yes bored but i saw this story the other day and just got pissed off. First off does anyone else think it's an attempt to phase out strip clubs? Considering if theres no nudity or atleast no full frontal, theres some clientel gone, then if they have to stay 6 feet away the dancers probably wouldn't get as many tips and would be getting less money and leave hence kill the business .(i know probably crazy theory but still) But seriously is it really any of their fucking business? I thought I had saw that they also had to have a higher stage or something which would cost a pretty penny in renovations but im not sure. If it's to protect the dancers i'd think it'd be cheaper to hire a freakin bouncer, anyone elses thoughts? and also the whole bit about banning smoking in public and such but i could give a shit less about that....

Conspiracy? DUN DUN DUNNNNNN!!!!!!
-
That is pretty stupid.
-
ugh what is stupid lol that they did it? or that im complaining about it? or what?
-
That is stupid. Six feet away would be a pretty crappy lap dance. I think there would be more prostitution.
-
What the city is complaining about is stupid. I'm all for protection of the dancers but by going through all the safety precautions that the city is demanding, they would kinda be ruining the point of the clubs existence in the first place.
-
ya thats what i said and i believe it was all brought on by some old woman but i cant seem to find the story i looked at before but i think i posted it somewhere here, but my mom just kept going on and on about protecting the dances and no its not to phase out the business and blah blah blah, because anytime ive heard about strippers they do it either for love of the work or because it pays a heck of a lot more than most things because of tips and how many tips are you going to get if your (a) not fully nude and (b) not really near the customer?

ok i found it damn search rocksStrip-club owners to fight confining city ordinance Wednesday, April 26, 2006By Jim HargerThe Grand Rapids Press GRAND RAPIDS -- Ron Buckner, manager of the Parkway Tropics strip club, says he will have to discriminate against tall dancers if he hopes to comply with the city's new strip club ordinance, adopted Tuesday. There's no way a dancer taller than 5-foot-6 will be able to perform in his older club without bumping her head on the ceiling, if he has to install the 18-inch stage required by the ordinance, he said. AdvertisementLike fellow strip-club operator Mark London, Buckner will talk to his attorney before hiring a carpenter to make changes. "We're looking at a long, expensive court battle, but one we're going to have to make," Buckner said. London, who operates two strip clubs in the city, also said he expects to sue before he complies with the ordinance, which takes effect May 25. The new ordinance, passed by a 6-1 vote of the City Commission Tuesday, requires all dancers in adult clubs to perform on a stage at least 18 inches off the floor. They also are required to stay 6 feet away from customers. The ordinance bans total nudity, requiring all semi-nude performers to wear G-strings and "pasties." Peep shows are required to remove doors or obstructions from their booths. Although the city ordinance gives business owners 180 days to modify their buildings to meet the new code, London and Buckner said they are more likely to challenge the ordinance in court. London argues the prohibitions in the ordinance violate his First Amendment rights to free speech. "There's little doubt in my mind the U.S. Constitution will ultimately prevail," he said. Second Ward Commissioner Rick Tormala said he had similar concerns when he urged commissioners to drop the ban on total nudity. He cast the sole vote against the ordinance. While Tormala said he supported parts of the ordinance outlawing contact between performers and patrons, he doubted the city could uphold the ordinance restrictions on nudity. Dar Vander Ark, executive director of the Michigan Decency Action Council, said courts have upheld bans on nudity. "There is no constitutional right to walk around stark naked in public," he said. Vander Ark's group has raised $100,000 to help the city defend the ordinance in court. City Attorney Philip Balkema said the new ordinance does not have language that would allow a business such as Parkway Tropics to seek a variance. If the club's ceiling can't be raised, "they would have to lower the floor," he said. ya nothing to do with the topic but its just stupid, its not like they have open windows theyd lose business, ok maybe it wasnt an old lady hmm wonder what was... and that isnt fucking fair,if that stays how the hell am i supposed to go to decent frickin strip club as a rite of passage when i turn 18?! lol

In reply to:The new ordinance bans total nudity and requires dancers to stay six feet away from customers. What a world we live in!!

Such is life in a religious nation, where the goverment tell you how how many inches from a dancer you can be. Maybe they should cameras on the dancer and LCD screens at the bar. You could call the dancer on a cell phone while she's on stage. And you could shoot dollars at the dancer with an air gun. There's a potential nudie bar supply business there.
It's enough to make a libertarian cringe.

Full nude strip clubs here in San Diego are the same..They are on a stage away from the patrons. Topless places here allow lap dances and such.. Oh yeah.. No alcohol at a full nude places either.
