I have actually been battling with the idea of becoming vegetarian for a while now, not because I don't believe in killing animals for food but because of health reasons. I have a friend that is a vegan and he really wants me to go vegan, but I really like my dairy and such hehe.BUT to answer the question if I personally had to kill every animal I ate, I don’t know if it would force me to be a vegetarian because I grew up in a hunting family, and like everyone else I love to go hunting, especially deer hunting. Yet I don’t know if I could chop the head off a chicken. So, I don’t think I’d go vegetarian if I had to kill my own animals, I’d probably just limit what animals I ate.

Hell yeah. I would rather get to know who I'm eating. At least then ya know what they've been feeding on and if your doing the butchering you can control the process and know that things are clean. Not to mention it makes you have a little more reverence for what's sustaining you.For a year, when I was in college, the only meat I ate was what me and my friends killed, butchered and cooked. Many deer died that year.

In reply to: would u be a vegetarian if u had 2 personally kill every animal u ate?.... YES i would i get attached to easy. i don't like to see the weanglings go to there new homes when we sell them. there is a filly that i don't want to see go in late august... but she's already been bought so i know she'll be leaving.

yup when it comes to animals,i'm pretty much a hippie.lol.when i'm 13,i will be a vegetarian.(don't ask about the age thing, its a long story)
-
Hell no, meat tastes too damned good.besides Iv killed, gutted, skinned, butchred and wrapped many animals, stuck em in my freezer and pulled thier asses out to cook and eat many many times.many fish each year, an elk and deer is also standard yearly. It doesnt bother me in the least.if your going ot feast on animals, you should kill, clean and cook a few yourself.

Shit no! Killing animals and eating them!? That rocks.
-
Yes
-
well mwahaha i founda technicality you just said kill not butcher so yes i would shoot them and take them elsewhere lol but if i had to i would damn well try or starve to death before i turn vege LONG LIVE MEAT
-
I like meat but I would never kill the animal myself. I like to pretend I don't know what i'm eating is coming from lol. S to answer your question yes I would just rather be a vegetarian in that case.

Chance shot Bambi and ate her. Time for me to switch to soy burgers and soilent green.
-
Chance your mean! My parents tricked me into eating bambi once. They told me it was just steak. Stupid parents.
-
Mmm venison! It tastes great! It's been cheap here lately so we've had it for dinner quite often.
Life wouldn't be worth living without meat.
-
Well no I wouldn't become a vegetarian for many reasons. First you need proteins to build muscles every muscle if you know what I mean. vegetables provide nutrients, but not as many proteins. Second I grew with meat and seen animals butchered (chicken, pigs, and once a cow) so I don't mind as long as it stays in that boundary. Last I love meat would die without and tofu would make me puke.
Yet I could never kill a deer reminds me to much of bambi.
-
I'll eat the stupid cows and chickens. We genetically modify them for food anyway. But i'll never eat bambi again.
-
You may have witnessed animal killing, but have you ever had a headless chicken run up you? I have!
-
there are other ways to get protein, you know.
-
There was a chicken on Riplys believe it or not that lived for 4 years without a head. Now that my friend is scaaaa-ry.
-
whoa,how is that even possible?

Part of the brain still remained with the rest of the body. Enough to keep it alive apparently.
