How do you patch a hole in the wall quickly?
-
Hole
-
duct tape
-
How big is the hole? And what kind of wall is it?
-
I don't know what kind of wall it is exactly. Just a normal wall. The hole is about as big as two VHS video tapes.

My parents would easily notice that when they come into my room
-
Move your room around so that something like your dresser covers it
-
it was a joke
-
get a dry wall patch and some poly-filla from the hardware store. the patch is like a peice of screen that fits over the hole and accepts plaster.trust the guy with the unfaithful ex-bitch... I know how to repair wall punches
-
I can move something to cover it but what happens if they see it somehow still ?
How long does patching it take?
-
Just do it until you can get the stuff to fix it

HA HA HA!I know the feeling, but your wrong.thats outdated.first i used to fold a cardboard piece and put a string thru it, tie that to a pencil and cover hte cardoard in glue (face out) then twist the pencil to hold hte cardboard there while the glue set, then fill in the hole with joint compound, sand, refill, sand, refill, sand, paint.then I used hte method you talked about. Now there is a piece of plastic you can use, put it on the wall after removing the adhesive, hit it with a hot ironf to shrink and harden it, sand it smooth on the edges, and paint it.what used to take 3 days with joint compound and about 1 day with the screen, now takes about 30 minutes.fpending the size of the hole, it looks a little odd, but up to fist sized holes it works pretty damned good. better if it happenso tbe on a textured wall where you can texture it before painting it but all in all a good fix.

that sounds cool... haven't seen that kit.
the last blow up that eneded in the 911 call (yeah, she's a drama queen on top of everything else) needed considerable patching in the bedroom.yay! onlt 3 weeks till family court!
-
considerable sized holes require considerable sized patches.if its too big I like to take some razors to it and cut it all the way back to the center of the 2 x 4's on each side on the top and bottem put in a thin piece of plywood screwed to the good gypsum on each side (top and bottom) to give a base to it, then stick in a new piece of wall board, screw it into the top and bottom, and then to the sides where it can hit the wood that makes up the frame of the wall. then you can start taping and joint compounding the outline and sand and paint. There is a bucket of shit, its not joint compound but spackling paste. it goes on pink and drys to white, smoothes better and you can use a damp rag to smoothe it out nice after its dry, then sand lightly and paint it.it costs about double joint compound, but it works in about 1/10 the time.Good luck in family court !

The proper was is to put in some strapping. Take a piece of drywall that will fit what ever you have nails or screws. Drill it into the strapping get some plaster let it dry. Sand it down and paint it. That's not fast or you could just hang a nice picture

my bathroom shares a wall with my bedroom. when I had a faucet leak inside the wall, i cut that wall open from my bedroom, did the work, hung a full length mirror over the hole.
if the bastard leaks again,i have access by removing 2 scews on the top nad lifting hte mirror off.
its better then a picture  -
Unfortunately it's very unlikely that an amateur job will be invisible unless you re-paint or re-paper the whole room.Putting a poster over it seems a good idea.
-
I can't hang a picture at the spot because it would look funny. The picture would be way to low to the ground.
-
You could do like a really long floor length poster... I know a few guys that have those.

I thought this thread was going to be about Courtney Love.Do you have any idea about patching drywall, or a friend who does? Do you even have paint to match the wall? If not, a bogus patch job will be pretty noticeable.
