Well i've just picked up smoking, i new to it, if u've added up what i've had its maybe 5 packs total, if and when i do have them its on the weekend 1 to 3 if even that. The Problem is that i've been having chest pains, nothing big but it is uncomfortable, now i've looked at symptoms for lung cancer, and chest pains is one of them, i don't know if they mean severe or what not but u can understand why i'm nervous. I don't know if any of u guys got these light uncomfortable feelings in chest when u started but i wanna know if i should start getting serious about it. I've stopped and plan on stopping before i get serious with smoking. Just leave some feedback if you can.

What makes you think you'll have an easy time stopping in the future? Everyone says that, and most people have a hell of a hard time doing it.> I've stopped and plan on stopping before i get serious with smoking. What do you mean you've stopped? You're smoking but you've stopped? Who are you fooling? The probability of getting lung cancer from a few packs of cigarettes is near zero, but the more you do it, the more your risk increases. But smoking has other downsides besides cancer. It can trigger asthmatic symptoms. You might be allergic to something in the smoke. It will reduce your athletic performance. Smoking also causes vascular (blood vessel) problems, which can lead to erectile dysfunction. That is to say, smoking can cause you to lose your ability to get a proper erection. Why are you smoking? To be "cool" and to fit in?
-
Not at all to fit in, if you knew me u would know i would never do it to be "Cool", and i know the effects, i've seen them, but the critisizim you just gave me, it is constructive don't get me wrong, but i was asking a questions about the chest pains. I would like a answer for that.
-
Well, we're not doctors around here, and we haven't examined you, but you might be triggering a latent problem with asthma. Just a guess. If you're getting a chest pains when you smoke, think of it as your body's way of telling you that it doesn't like it.Why did you start smoking anyway? Feel free not to answer that, if you prefer, but it's a bit of a puzzle.

Well being you guys are good listeners, i'll explain, Seasonal Depression, and social Anxiety disorder runs really big in my family, now through my life so far i've chewed on starts like a nervous habit, along with Biting finger nails, then one day my cousin left a pack out when i was younger, tried it and i guess the feeling of being down went away in the light headed feeling. Thats all i can say unless u want to know more.

The reason the "fitting in" thing came to mind was that when I was 14 or 15, two of my friends started smoking, and it seemed like a pretty cool thing to do. I could never stand it though. It just made me cough and it made my chest hurt. Then it occurred to me that it wasn't a very good idea anyway. That was a long time ago, and as far as I know, those guys are still smoking (as did their parents).Obsessive compulsive behaviors are related to depression, biochemically. Antidepressant drugs can help for both conditions (often SSRIs). They're not for everyone, but they can be a very big help. The side effects of smoking are much worse. It would really be worth your while to get a professional opinion for your issue. It is very likely that you can be helped, one way or another, and the downside and risk are practically zero.

Smoking is one of the worst thing you can do. I smoke and hork out dark phlem all the time. Chronic Bronchitis is another side effect. Earlier death is another. Smoking is not cool no matter what the movies show or your friends do. I don't think that they are anyone here who smokes that do not regretting it. If the government wanted people to stop, they would make it against the law for the tobacco companies to add extra more addicting ingredience. I know an insider at a major tobacco plant so I know how they operate. It's sickening how much money goes to the government. It's also bad taking a priority over tobacco rather than get the kids an extra shirt or treat myself to a new Penthouse magazine.
