I am, and always have been overweight. Last year, I weighed 138 pounds. Now, I weight 183, but I grew taller. I ask people how much they think I weigh, and all 6 of them said 130-40. They said it was honest to god. I got my mom's genes; we're DENSE. We grow IN not out. So It's really unhealthy because I never look fatter. I mean, I always look the same weight. I don't always have a double chin, but I hate having fat on me. I want to lose this extra weight. I've tried diets, and they've worked, but I need support. My parents are never home because we just started a business, so I always steal their money and go buy junk food. I can't stop eating. But now I'm serious as hell. I'm sick of being fat. I just need some starter tips.

Even though I know what I eat is unhealthy & it's shortening my life; it's just so yummy. My friends are always like "let's go to so-so and eat" and I DO! I'm always out biking, but I hate hanging out if we don't have a destination. And the destination usually involves food. I don't like biking for no reason; so that's why I eat Chipotle every day and waste my parents money. We don't even have money! We are like dead poor since opening our business and it's not taking off like we expected. Bah. I wish I could cut off fat with a knife. That would be so much easier. I'm addicted to fatty food...help.

They just GAVE you help, and you told them that you have no self control... Obviously, you don't REALLY want to lose wait, or else you would put forth the effort. If your friends invite you somewhere, say, okay, I'll go, and get a glass of water and a light salad. Just because you go to a burger place DOESN'T mean you have to eat burgers.

In reply to: I can't stop eating You need to change the way you're thinking and drive yourself out of this slump you're in. YOU CAN STOP EATING UNHEALTHY FOODS. Tell yourself that everyday. Whenever you start to reach for something you know won't be good for you remind yourself that if you eat it you'll be going the opposite direction of what your goal is. How bad do you want it?

Thats depressing. Cereal is breakfast candy? :frowning: I like flavored oatmeal. And to think, this whole time I thought I was eating pretty good. I guess I was wrong.

Oatmeal is very good for you. The problem is that most commercial breakfast cereals are full of sugar.

Wait a minute, fruit juice is bad? I have a glass of florida orange juice everymorning, I thought I was doing myself some good. I also had a bold of frosted flakes but I sort of knew that one was bad.

Drinking orange juice, especially on an empty stomach, has nearly the effect of shooting sugar right into you veins. It will make your blood sugar level zoom up. Then a little later in the morning you blood sugar level will drop, after your body dumps a bunch of insulin into your bloodstream, and you will feel tired and crappy. The sugar flakes sure don't help much.You would do a lot better by eating an orange rather than drinking fruit juice. The amount of juice you get in an orange will be less, and the fiber it contains will slow the absorption of sugar. The fiber is also good for your bowels.As far as sugar is concerned, drinking fruit juice is no better than drinking a Coke (but at least it has some nutritional value, which Coke does not).

Bah. THANKS everyone:) I'm doing fine with avoiding the food & my face looks thinner. I feel good, too. I still go biking, except we generally go only to a friends house. Thanks for the advice and thanks helms

Simple sugars, which are easy to digest, cause blood sugar to rapidly rise. Sugars that are simple to digest (you can even consume pure glucose) might be useful for certain special purposes, but not for the average person's breakfast.However, since fruit contains fiber, when you eat fruit you limit your sugar consumption (versus drinking fruit juice) because the volume of the fiber displaces juice, and the fiber itself slows the absorption of sugar. "Easy to digest", as I said, is not advantageous for most people.
