A few months ago I already had another picture thread where I had a brown spot near the urethra. I showed it a dermatologist and said it was lentigo or something like that. I should get it checked once a year to see if it changes. And now I found another strange brown spot on the glans. It is not elevated but it is brownish and the rest of the glans is red. It doesn't look normal to me. What if this is also something like a mole? This cannot be normal to have such things on the glans. And the glans often also looks TOTALLY wrinkly. Is this normal?http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/3389/90707252.jpghttp://img46.imageshack.us/img46/1066/69094072.jpghttp://img708.imageshack.us/img708/8863/25276675.jpghttp://img401.imageshack.us/img401/449/66415042.jpg

Worried, brown spot in glans!

Presumably it's another lentigo. On the glans is quite normal, and is an example of 'mucosal lentigo'.A lentigo is essentially a brown spot, not raised (as moles are). It doesn't seem to be well understood why they appear, but they are quite common, especially with age ('age spots'). They tend to get darker with time, but are not cancerous. The glans does get wrinkly, yes.

But this worries me. :frowning:
My dermatologist told me that you have to regularly look at this to see if it changes. What if it changes and needs to be cut out? The glans is not a place where you want to get stuff cut out. And if the other one is also a lentigo then this freaks me out even more!!! Then this would already be the second one on the glans. What if this has an underlying cause? Could this be caused by soap? Maybe the soap contains substances which aren't healthy for the skin.
I am uncut and inspite of this the glans looks strange and seems to be very dry, too. Am I washing too much? I think I will not use soap anymore. And does the color of the glans not also look strange? Why is it so blue and patchy and not red? I don't think I have seen a glans which looks like this.
Imageshack has removed 2 of the pics. These idiots!!!

It's very unlikely that soap causes lentigines (the plural of lentigo). The main constituent of soap is a salt of normal fatty acids, substances commonly found within cells. The colour of the glans is very variable. Violet is quite common.
