OK about 3 months ago on spring break this girl i were hanging out and she had some kind of blister on her lip. later that night she ended up giving me head very breifly and then we had sex (with a condom). anyways, later on i realized that the blister was probably herpes and now im really scared. its been 3 months or so like i said and i havent had any blisters or soars or pain or anything but ive just started dating a really nice girl and im really worried that i could have herpes now im pissed. is it possible that it wasnt herpes? could it have just not passed on to me? i read somewhere that hsv-1 or cold sores are less likely to be transmitted i think but either way is it still very possible that i have herpes even after this long?

Herpes???

It's probable that it was HSV-1 and it's also possible that it wasn't transmitted to you. But you just never know with these things.

ooh i forgot, like 2 weeks afterwards i had some slight pain in urination and slight discharge when i woke up so i went to the doc and he found bacteria in my urine but i tested negative for everything so he just gave me some antibiotics and that did the trick pretty well. would herpes cause that kind of stuff without any sores or irritation?

he said it was probably a bladder or urinary tract infection. but since theres no way to tell, what should i do? how is herpes diagnosed? i would like to know because i dont want to pass the shit on to others and ruin their lives as well.

I think the only way to tell is if you do come up with an outbreak. I don't believe HSV causes the symptoms you described. It was just a UTI. There is a lot of info on the web about Herpes (HSV) so you should do some research and also talk with your doctor.

Ok, basically what i want to know then is how likely are you to go 3 months without a herpes outbreak if you were in fact hsv positive. and also if you were to have a herpes outbreak would it be very obvious that you were having it or could it go unnoticed?

from what i am aware of most people have their first outbreak within 14 days of contacting it
