Hey, I have a Physical coming up in a week or so and i've been smoking Bud (marijuana) pretty often, so i know its in my system. I was just wondering, the only way they can check for it is if my parents ask for it to be checked, right? I just want to make sure...

Physical Test And Smoking Bud

I dunno, do you live in China? Even in the U.S., I don't think they have to ask your parents' permission to require you to let them take a urine or hair sample, for instance. It may depend on what state or locality you live in.

it wont show up in a urine test unless they r specifically testing for it, and i dont think they can cheak 4 it without consent....p.s. smokeing weed or whateva u wanna call it is stupid

I'm not sure if that's still true. For a while a lot of students had to agree to a drug test before being allowed to participate in after-school activities (since it's a privilege, not a right), but there was a Supreme Court case a couple of years ago where the court agreed with the school that they can require anyone at the school to get a drug test. Maybe it reqires parental consent...not sure.
Here is a politically biased analysis of the Supreme Court case.

I cant vouch for the rest of the country, but in Utah I can tell ya how it is.A minor cant be tested for drugs, unless;A. his parents sign a consent form, for example a physical for sports or what not.B. there is reasonable suspicion and cause to test a child for its use.you can require anyone who participates in a school organized sport to submit to drug testing but the parent has to sign the consent form, hell here, you have to go get it done on your own and tur it in to the school with a physicians report in order for the child to play sports. If the minor in question is in trouble already, and has a juvy record, a judge can order them to fbe tested during probatin periods, or for new offenses, with total lack of parental permission. In most cases though, if its for school sports, they will tell you ahead of time that you will be tested. For my sons basketball, its a simple basic physical saying that the child is healthy enough to play with out believing there is substantial risk of inujury that isnt related to teh game its self. What, who tests for, is really dependant on the rules of the school, or business and what type of physical is required.Or atleast, thats how it is in Utah.
