America is with Israel on this one... And the UN can't to jack shit until Israel lets them. I did hear on the news the other night that after they had got their buffer zone, they would be willing to allow a UN force in there.
-
By god, you should become a sex Ed. Teacher!!Good job!
-
they want a buffer force between Lebanon and Syria too to cut off the supply of rockets.
-
Do they? That would make sense. As far as I gathered they just needed to push Hezbollah far enough back so their rockets couldn't reach Israel. It was quite funny in the email my friend sent me a few days ago he said it wasn't such a big deal over there. He said he had watched CNN and they were blowing things way out of proportion. I guess they are used to this type of shit over there.

In reply to:I'm really surprised that America isn't with Isreal, since it's filled with jews, and jews own all American business, etc. I'm quite sure for the music industry.George Bush and Dick Cheney must be Jews, then. And America isn't with Israel, and Israel is filled with Jews. I see.Are all Romanians racist bigot f*cking idiots, or are you a particularly poor example of your culture?
-
No, do you even look at the music industry? I don't care for else now. If you're white its too hard to get in now. Thats why Canadian bands are getting singed by Lava and Zoology. Ex. Billy Talent and Simple Plan. You're not a musician so you wouldn't know!
-
You're not American or Jewish, how would you know?
-
Cause I've tried to get into it.I don't care if their jews but it doesn't mean they can put up outrageous deals. they get 90% of cd cells! The drummer from Lamb of God spoke out about this a month ago, he was silenced!
-
> You're not a musician so you wouldn't know!
You have a recording contract? Why would the Jews let an Antisemite ignoramous into the secret club?
WTF does the number of Jews in the recording industry have to do with the situation in the Middle East, much less the stem cell debate? Maybe some of the Jewish researchers will leave North America to pursue their studies where funding is more available. That should thrill you no end.
If you don't get a recording contract, it sure as hell won't be because you're not a Jew.
-
if the Jews are running the music industry, who keeps singing the nazi-skin bands?Oh, the world is full of strange coincidence... I just chatted with Java and she's in Isreal right now... weird huh?
-
I hope not in the northern part.

She concures with Joeblog's friend. It's not as bad as it looks when you're actualy there.
-
In reply to:
It was 900 years of slavery, actually.
Its not quite so simple as that. The first people who invaded Ireland from Britain were Normans, who were as much colonial rulers in England and Wales as they were in Ireland, and they didnt maintain links with England. They replaced Irish aristocracy and then pretty much went native. I said 500 years, starting from when the Tudor dynasty conquered Ireland.

"She concures with Joeblog's friend. It's not as bad as it looks when you're actualy there."Have either been in Lebanon? I think a more complete first hand account would be a description of what the current conditions are in Beirut, as well, before anyone claims or dismisses it as overblown media coverage. ________________________________I'm not suggesting that's your intent Mr. U, just actively reminding people that all realities have different points of view.
-
I was thinking the same thing Scotty. Seeing one dead child laying in the street is enough for me to think it's pretty bad over there.

"It's about time that America collectivly stood up and said to it's polliticians "uhh... excuse me, we're not FUCKING STUPID ya know""I hate to disagree, but collectively anyway, our track record recently doesn't seem to suggest that we're to bright. As for Steve's original thread topic, the whole point of passing the stem cell legislation was so that those Republicans in more liberal competitive districts could vote for it and the President and those in more conservative areas could come out against it. It was unabashed political pandering. The evidence, all be it anecdotal, that I see around this stagnate corner of the mud puddle, is that it worked beautifully. The ultra-conservative base, here at least, is totally re-energized. Where a few month ago you couldn't get them to even speak of their President or party they have become "the" topic once again. Between the flag burning amendment and the stem cell bill these ultra-conservatives feel that they can once again hold their heads high.Note - I recant using the word conservative as a description of the people in the modern Republican party. They are not conservatives, at least not around here. They are unabashed and unapologetic fundamentalist.

In reply to: Have either been in Lebanon? I think a more complete first hand account would be a description of what the current conditions are in Beirut, as well, before anyone claims or dismisses it as overblown media coverage. I'm just relaying an account of someone in Israel. Not suggesting that the whole regeon is like a club med. We're running missions to get Canadians out of the area and beleive me, they're damn happy to get home. (well, except for one stupid bitch who was bitching about the uncomfortable plane ride... send her back I say)Of course, no one can deny CNN's love of conflict and ratings.

I thought Inhofe was a liberal or libertarian or something. He's the only living politician who ever inspired me to write an essay, back when he was a congresshypocriteman, after he gave a speech on the death penalty.Have you heard his recent speech comparing scientists who claim that global warming is a reality with that old standard of evil, the Nazis? Inhofe has been re-elected a lot of times.
-
Yes indeedy. That I have. I'm glad we're not all politicians here.
