I recently heard a couple of girls talking about how their period "stops" while they're swimming with a tampon. Of course, I couldn't find this remotely plausible and I suggested that the water was simply diluting any leakage to the point where they couldn't tell. Well, even more recently I heard it again. The reason they gave was that the water pressure somehow aides in temporarily stopping the flow. So, my question, is there any truth to this? Does the water really cause a temporary pause in the period?
