Every where I go, everyone is against Micharl Moore's new film "Fahrenheit 9/11". Why? Are they afraid it might expose the US is screwed up? That the gooberment is hiding things from us? I'm thinking about seeing the movie (As long as it isn't rated R, I'm only 16 ) Here is a link to his website.. http://www.michaelmoore.com/ .. I liked his 'Bowling for Columbine' film. I want to see it again.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" Whats the big deal?
-
Maybe I don't want to see this movie... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5235854/

In reply to: (As long as it isn't rated R, I'm only 16 ) It is rated R, but Moore is fighting it trying to get a PG-13. He says that teenagers need to see this movie because they might be drafted in a few years
-
i wanna see itits got this part where they asking bush whats he gonna do about the attacks while he's playing golf and he says " In reply to: we shall do everything we can to fight and stop terrorisyt attack... now watch this next hole"

I'm not sure on the status of the U.S. release of the film, I haven't been keeping too up to date, but when I first heard of Disney trying to stop Miramax from releasing it in the states I immediately thought that Mr. Moore must have known that would happen, the title predicted it. I don't remember Disney's reasoning, but a huge factor could be the placement of their largest grossing theme park being placed in the state that is governed by G-Dubya's brother, hm, what a ko-inky-dink.

just downloaded and watched it... load of crap
-
Yeah.. I've been seeign alot of write ups on him.. from DECENT news organizations.. It sounds like total BS.. Stupid moron
-
lol it make 2.8 million in the first week! the highest amount of money ever made by a documentery
-
3 million isn't very much... Spider Man 2 made 147 million it's first DAY.
-
its rated RT in my theater which means to watch at ur own risk.. umm.. the reason it doesnt have that much is probably because its only played in select theaters
-
its either that or 28 million but i'm pretty sure it had a 2 and an 8 in it
-
Yeah, I heard at least 90% of this movie is a load of crap, and isn't true... I think the movie sounds really dumb.. but I never really liked "documentries" anyway. I also heard a lot of people found the movie gay and boring.
-
I've seen it. It is legal in the US, at least for now... No, this movie is not a load of BS. If it was, I'm sure the government (Or Bush) would be addressing the nation with a long-winded speech.First-hand experience, when my dad flew over here (same year as 9/11 maybe Feb) for a visit, he had a friggin' LIGHTER that looked like a pistol, and it WENT THROUGH (among other potentially dangerous items that could be used to hijack a plane). That's just one of the many examples of connectinos from the movie to what's true.Another is the fact that the Osama family did in fact fly out of the US, and was allowed by Bush....Do a little more research on Bush, then read the reviews to the movie. Moore isn't full of BS, at least 60 percent is true, and besides, See the movie ANYWAY It's funny as hell!!!Bush says, "We're gonna smoke out Osama!"and then Moore shows more clips of him saying this, and then a parody of him looking into a mine shaft and saying this! lol!!But yeah it should be rated R cuz they show a fully-naked Iraqi and his.... cut open arm...
-
how can something be both gay and boring at the same time?
-
yeah it was pretty interesting, but i think bush is an idiot and i'm Canadian if that makes a difference...
ALthough bowling for columbine was better done -
Osama Bin Laden's family lived in Florida for many years. They have disowned him though, quite a while ago, due to his militant beliefs. The family is a quite wealthy and has a very successful construction company that does business all over the world. They did fly out of the country, but as Michael Moore tries to imply, Bush let them out while all planes were grounded. This is a lie; for one thing, they flew out after planes were allowed to fly again, and it was not Bush that allowed it, but Richard Clarke, who has since stated Moore was incorrect because he let it happen. Clarke has no love for the president; if you recall, he was fired and wrote that scathing book about the current administration. If Clarke says he was responsible for helping bin Laden's family out of the country, why should we not believe him? Some people are jumping to conclusions about the fact that the bin Ladens lived here and that there might be a tie to Bush. That's preposterous. Let's say you have a relative in prison for something, such as murder, child molestation, drug use, rape, etc. Just because you're related to him doesn't mean you do the same things.THe thing with Michael Moore is that he is an egomaniac and he thinks he is one of the world's most important people (not quite a god-complex, but close), and that everybody must share his views. Why must his face be plastered everywhere? I've never seen a documentarian who spends more time on camera than this guy. He craves attention. Whenever someone calls on him about something he says that might be untrue, he accuses them of slander and says he's going to sue them. An example: he was giving a speech to the press and someone asked him about the assertion that Hamas (the Palesenian terrorist group) has offered to put up money to help get his film distributed in the middle east, and Moore just went off on the guy, causing quite a ruckus. Moore hasn't denied this, although I find it strange that the Weinstein's, who run Miramax and helped finance this film, are Jewish and allowed a Palestenian group to help distribute the film.I encourage everyone, regardless of your political leanings, to do a little research to see if Moore is really truthful about everything he says. Anyone who accepts what he says as the truth without thinking about it first is bound to believe anything, regardless of whether it's true or not. If he says the sky is red, some people will believe him.I don't like the guy personally. I am glad that Spider-Man whipped his ass out of first place. I also want to add that F911 is not the highest grossing documentary of all time, "Jackass" is.
-
I made a mistake in my post. I said Hamas was trying to distribute the film. I meant Hezbollah. Sorry about that.
-
No.
-
really... lol jackass was considered a documentary? lol i thought it was more of a comedy... i saw it on mtv news that F911 was the highest grossing documentary
-
Well, whether it was a documentary is up to debate (I mean Jackass) but I am sure if it was classified as such, Michael Moore would probably sue them
