What is Ibuprofen, exactly?
-
It's a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), like other mild analgesics like aspirin or acetaminophen/paracetamol.

Thank you, Ineligible!

I've taken 2 then gone out hard on a big night of drinking. I was fine, except for the usual hangover the next day.

Honestly, I'm more worried about the damage my binge drinking alone does to me, than the combination of binge drinking and ibprofen.I've got mates who pop the stuff just to get drunk faster, but they're idiots.

As a pharmacy student I'd say that taking 2 (regular strength)ibuprofen tablets then having half a scotch once as a mistake won't do you do much harm and I'd be surprised if it did make you sick. However if you were to make a habit of it you could do serious damage to your liver and may develop stomach ulcers. As for taking ibroprofen to get drunk faster, it's a stupid idea. The combined effects of the Non-steroidal anti-inflamatory (NSAID) combined with the effects of binge drinking will do lasting damage.
