Question 1Okay, i have had this question on my mind for quite a while now but have been too afraid to ask anyone about it. For the past year i have had a little trouble with what i THINK is discharge. Under my foreskin the head is always pretty moist and smells really bad, i have no way of describing it other than slightly off milk. Even when i bath, within an hour the smell is back. I bath every other day wich i hear is pretty regular for a teen boy, i also wash my penis every morning when i have a wash. Also, my urine has a verry strong smell too wich kind of smells like coffee. Maybe i drink too much coffee?Basicaly im asking, could this be an std or am i just worrying too much?Question 2This one is the biggie for me.A few month ago me and my girlfriend had sex, we got about half way through when i felt a really agonizing pain coming from my member. When i looked the layer of skin between the head of my penis and my foreskin had split clean down the middle. I was in pain for a few days and it was gradually healing but it hasnt healed the way i thought it would, instead of going back the way it was it has decided to become 2 seperate pieces of skin, one on the head and the other on the foreskin. It doesnt look too bad and since then sex has been allot better for me but i was just wondering if its a natural thing that happens after a while?Any help on either question would be fantastic...Also, in return, if anybody is having ANY kind of trouble with thier pc i work for an online tech group at Protonic wich is a site that helps people fix thier pc's for free. Thanks very much, Mark

2 Very important questions...

Mark, welcome to A2A. I suspect that your two problems are related to you being uncircumsized. Since I am circumsized, I can't be of much help. However, be patient. There are others here who will be able to assist. Good luck.

For your first question, it is normal for there to be an odor under the foreskin, even soon after washing it, however it shouldn't be too strong if you're washing it daily. A very strong foul odor from under the foreskin even after frequent washing is usually a sign of a yeast or fungus infection under the foreskin, and can sometimes cause excessive smegma production or similar discharge. A yeast infection usually smells fishy, but could also smell like bad milk like you described. If your penis wasn't always like this, and you noticed it smelling worse suddenly (assuming you haven't changed your hygiene habits), then it probably is an infection under there. In reply to: Also, my urine has a verry strong smell too wich kind of smells like coffee. Maybe i drink too much coffee? Coffee doesn't affect the way urine smells, so that's not it. Urinary tract infections can cause foul smelling urine, but will also often show up as cloudy or dark urine. It is possible that if you have a yeast infection under your foreskin, that it is migrating up your urethra and causing a urinary tract infection as well. Other than that, certain vitamins and vegetables (i.e. asparagus) can make urine smell strong and weird. I would see a doctor about all this, because you may have a few issues going on here that are all inter-related. I don't think it is an std though. With question 2, I'm not sure exactly what you tore - maybe your frenulum? Your frenulum is the strip of skin on the underside of your penis that connects your foreskin to below the base of the head on the underside. It is common to tear the frenulum during sex, and you'll have an experience just like what you described. Best policy if it tears is to lay off sex for a few weeks to let it heal. Hope this helps!

Welcome to A2A, Mark Henderson! On the urine smell, just to add another possibility to focus's list, if you don't drink enough fluid and you're dehydrated, your urine is more concentrated and will therefore smell stronger. If that's the reason, drinking more water will solve it.On the second question, it sounds to me like you broke your frenulum, sometimes colloquially called "snapping your banjo string". That can happen if the frenulum is too short. The frenulum's purpose is to help pull the foreskin back over the head when you are soft, but if it's too short it can cause trouble in sex. It sounds like the way it has healed is better than the way it was, so it's good.

Thank you very much to everyone who posted. I feel much better now and can stop worrying.A few more questions to verify i have this yeast infection, id just like to be sure before i go strolling into my doctors lolCan the yeast infection also cause me to sometimes be irritated and itchy after sex? Also im pretty worried that it may have been there a year, could it effect anything else like sperm count or impatancy? Also, a few month back i was on some strong anti biotics for a different reason, shouldnt they have also got rid of the yeast infection? And if i do have this yeast infection, where should i go, the doctors or my nearest sexual health clinic? Thanks, Mark

The yeast infection should not affect sperm count as the sperm is produced in your testicles, and the yeast infection would be on the outside of your penis. It could cause you to itch, but if you're able to get hard and have sex, you're not impotent. It's also possible that the antibiotics you took may have also killed the "good germs" and let the yeast take over.Whether you go to a doctor or a clinic is up to you. If you have a regular doctor that you go to, I would think that would be preferable.

May i ask, when you say yeast infection do you mean thrush?
-
Wash well under the foreskin but make sure that you rinse away all traces of soap. As you are in the UK, you might try using some Savlon, Cetavlex or Boots Antiseptic cream under the foreskin if the anti-fungal cream did not help.Increase your fluid intake and if your 'skin is long, pull it back when you pee.
-
Yes, thrush is another name for a yeast infection.
Antibiotics don't kill yeast - they kill bacteria, which are quite different. Antibiotics may encourage yeast infections by killing bacteria that compete with the yeast.
Of course we haven't established yet that it definitely is a yeast infection, though if there is itching that makes it more likely.

In reply to: Antibiotics don't kill yeast - they kill bacteria, which are quite different. Antibiotics may encourage yeast infections by killing bacteria that compete with the yeast. This is what I meant by "killing the 'good bugs' and letting the yeast take over. Sorry if it wasn't clear.

I have to disagree with Focus on one thing...the coffee smell. I drink coffee infrequently, but when I have more than 3 or 4 cups I notice a definite "coffee" smell to my urine within a couple hours. I think it can affect the urine smell. Try cutting out the coffee completely for 2 days and see if that makes a difference. As to the skin you tore, I believe that is called an "adhesion". Take a look at this link and see if it describes what you had. They are uncommon but not rare in uncircumsized guys, and can make it difficult or impossible to fully retract a foreskin until they are disconnected. It sounds like it healed exactly the way you want them to.

wash your dick two times per day..

It could be that I'm just used to it though, as I've been drinking coffee regularly since I was 8 years old. Although I did give it up completely for a few months, and didn't notice any difference in my urine. I wasn't exactly examining it closely however.
