hi everyone, i'm very concerned and very scared. i am 3o years old and for the past 2 months i've had strange pains (soreness) and cramps in my penis, testicles and lower abdomen. this pain and soreness that i speak of comes on strong and stays with me for several hours after i attempt to masturbate. up until 2 months ago i masturbated every day. for the past 2 months because of the pain, i reserve attempting to masturbate to once a week. i've visited a urologist, he said that he doesn't know what's going on, he said that i don't have any infections so he thinks it's just something that will eventually go away. well it's been 2 months and it isn't getting any better. one of my friends thinks that it's a pulled muscle or group of muscles because the pain is always greater after i'm erect. but if that's the case would it take this long to recover with no signs of recovery on the horizon?also another strange symptom that i've been having for the past 2 weeks in addition is that i feel these sudden urges to urinate. almost as if out of no where, a pool of liquid rushes to the head of my penis and i've got to hold it back so whatever it is doesn't come out. note i'm not having any strange discharges.i'm worried because i don't know what this is and it's scaring me. please give me your thoughts. thank you, with all sincerity.

PLEASE help me figure out what these symptoms are

Have you had any scans done of the area? The urge to urinate, in the absence of infections, suggests either that something is putting pressure on your bladder, or there is something going wrong with the nerves. If there is something putting pressure on your bladder (a hernia? a tumour? - I have no idea) it should show up in a scan.

what type of scans would you recommend. i have been taking pain killers for the past couple of months, do you think that that could effect the nerves?
-
what type of an internal medical doctor would you recommend? i was already planning on getting a second opinion from another urologist, would you advise against that and recommend seeing another specific kind of doctor?
-
Ordinary pain killers should be all right - but the pain is telling you something is wrong.Whether you should be having ultrasound or MRI scans is well outside my expertise, but Helms is right - this needs a doctor. Something is wrong and getting worse, and it needs looking at.

here's an update, i went back to the urologist today, he said that it could be "interstitial cystitis" which is more common in woman than men but either way he said that they're going to give me anesthesia and scope my bladder so they can see what's going on with it. i think the procedure is called "bladder distention" but i could be wrong. any thoughts?
