Headach

A headache that lasts as long as that should be taken seriously. One possibility is that you are dehydrated. Drink lots of water, not just in one go, but several times. You'll urinate a lot, but keep drinking. If that doesn't stop it within a day, go to the doctor.
-
ok, i was considering it was dehydration but it didnt stop when i drank alot..ill try drinking abit more.i talked 2 my mum about it ( a rare occurence) and she said i should go to the chiropractor sooner then my appoinment cuz it may just b that my necks out...im not 2 sure. thanx, will try more water
-
If you're already well-hydrated, you don't have to go nuts with the water drinking. It won't fix anything, and can cause problems if you way overdo it.A five-day-long headache is definitely something that needs medical attention. Hopefully you will see the chiropractor soon. If he's not able to help, you need to see your regular MD.It could be a tight neck or upper back muscle, or some such thing, but you need to make sure it's nothing more serious.

which is why id like to see if my chriropractor can fix the problem as my sholders and neck and arms asweel r quite sore at the moment. ill c how it goes.as i said b4, it has happen previously which is on of the reasions why i started seeing a chiropractor tho i cant remember if this fixed the problemthanx alot

headaches have a number of causes - excess sun exposure, too little liquid in the system, eye strain, tension, etc. Generally they last from a few minutes to a day. But when they persist for more than a reasonable amount it might be time to get things checked out.And if you have neck or shoulder problems those can lead to headaches as well though more than likely in the back of the head than the front. Front headaches seem to be more often related to eye or sinus problems. After 5 days though, unless you are a known migraine sufferer, it's time to see a doctor. And as an offbeat aside, I have known people who get tension headaches and treat them very effectively by inducing a good orgasm. One never will fully understand how the various parts of the human body interact will they.

Funny enough, very little of what a chiropractor does is medically proven and they need no actual medical training. They claim to be able to do a lot of things that are very questionable, such as cure headaches... While there may possibly be a connection between neck and shoulder tension and headaches, I'd recommend seeing a doctor or a physiotherapist in the case of stiffness and muscle soreness and getting another professional opinion. While chiropractors only require 2-4 years of undergraduate education, that is only the minimum required to enter medicine let alone complete a degree which is generally another 6 years minimum. They do not necessarily have to have any educational background and many chiropractors are for some reason believed to have medical expertise (which I'm sure very few do).
-
I won't comment on the efficacy of chiropractic treatment, but in the U.S. there are educational requirements for the job. It's at least two years, and tending toward four years (as it is in Florida): "Chiropractic programs require a minimum of 4,200 hours of combined classroom, laboratory, and clinical experience." (Source: U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics).

dont mock it till u try it.i have a really fucked up lower back and a bad neck aswell from not standing or sitting up properly because of my hight....and big boobs really dont help. i used to get a very sore back just from 1/2 a day walking round a shopping center.i go to the chiropractor every month and it really does work 4 me, along with many many other ppl with spine problems.and in nz there is a considerable amount of training befor u qualify as a chriropractor. and i think mine was also a doctor befor he bacame a chiropractor.so get over it

-

thanx ppl

i go to the chiropractor every monthEvery month to the chiropractor seems rather excessive. Is he not addressing the root causes of the problems (like, for example, issues with posture)?
-
no, that just seems to be what u do. when i 1st started i had to go in every coupla days/fue weeks to get my spine to go in the right shape.after thats sorted, every1 goes back monthly to 4 a reajustment.the problem with me is standing and sitting up streight. with my hight, i do tend to slouch alot when talking and hangling out with my friends who r much shorter then me. haveing big boobs dosnt seem to help the problem much eather...and sumtimes its just abit of a self confidence thing, tho the orrignial problem and reason 4 me going was a 2 week long headach and lower back problemshe can fix the problem temperarly but its probably not gonna sort itself out till i stand up perfectly streight all the time, which dosnt seem 2 happen....both my parents also go in monthly as they find it helps with thier sports and such.what i need is a personal assistant to walk round with me all day and tell me off when im not standing up properly.
-
why not let a couple of your friends in on your problem wth slouching and stooping over and then develop a key word of gesture they can use to tell you when they see you doing it. Like one of my roommates who always bit his nails and hated doing it - I'd give him a quick, light backhand or ask him if he was hungry depending on the venue. It actually worked and was easy since no one else got the meaning that he and I understood.
-
i have asked them 2 but, they got bord of it and gave up too easy....i might try again tho, thanx
