I figured this would be the best subforum to post this.I recentely started high school, all honors. I'm 14 and am about 56 inches tall. I weigh about 220 pounds. About 50-60 pounds came on rapidly as stress weight after my father died in May 2005. My mom took me to a doctor and a nutritionist and I started a diet. It was going well until school started. I haven't been able to stick to the diet. When I go back to the doctor I will be getting some sort of "metabolism pills" to help me control this. According to the doctor, I'm on the verge of getting type 2 diabetes. I've been trying really hard, honest, I have, but it's been hard. I've been trying to lose weight all my life but something always happens to stop it. When my father died I was going to a gym and had lost about 10 pounds, but I stopped to try to help me put things in perspective, and it was out of control. It's been hard in school with certain people. I have a lot of friends but every now and then I get one of "those" people. A girl called me disgusting to my face. It's all upsetting, and I know that this was sort of rambling, but my main point os what should I do about "those" people?

well, i cant say i know EXACTLY how you feel, but i have had 42 surguries, i'm 16, I am, how would someone put it, ah yes "ugly as sin" so, naturaly, i get "those people" You just gotta realise that they are wrong, you have been through some serius crap with your dad dieing, I happen to have a good sence of humor and i ussualy shoot a joke back at them, along the lines of "thats not what your mother thoguth last night" lame i know, but it shuts em up, Kids can be cruel, in grade one a girl called me "alien" i balled for 10 minutes, i then told her she was a mean poopie(i was 6, gimmie a break) I suggest just haveing a few good friends that don't give a rats ass what you look like and stickign with em, i know its hard, but just ignore what those other assholes say, they're wrong.

That is exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. My old way used to be going something like "Well, at least I'm not a calloused, souless bitch incapable of feeling any human emotions.", and I'd end up in more trouble than them. Thanks, I shouldn't worry.
And I'm sorry to hear about that, but I guess it gives me a new look on things. I could always be worse (no offence if it sounds like it) not matter how bad it is.

I can't stick to my diet because I have to leave the house by 6:45, so I am extremely hungry by the time I get to lunch (PB Sandwich, cheese nips, diet snapple) and by the time I walk home I'm starving again and can't wait till dinner. And a snack doesn't feel like enough. But I'll figure something out with the doctor.

really, theres not heeps u can do about "those ppl". it dosnt matter what u do or how u look, they will try and find what ur insecure about and pick on u for it to make themselves feel better and superiour. every1s been through it and the best thing to do is not to take it personally at all, bulling is more about whats wrong with the bully then the victum. i kinda feel bad for them if they have to pick on ppl to feel better.ive been picked on for dumb things like haveing fair skin ( which is fucking stupid cuz other ppl seem to care more bout it then i do) and being fat ( which i thort was hallerious cuz it was ovious that they were just saying it cuz they presume all girl think theyre fat) and it just helps to not get upset or give then any reaction, even to insult them back cuz if they know its not working on you theyll leave u alone cuz they arent getting the reaction they want outa you

Well, i don't generally gorge on stuff like that, it's really due to not eating the right things when I do and then not exercising enough. I'll try the apples.... sounds like a good idea.

Oranges, those bags of mini-carrots and a whole host of other goodies are available for you too. Things to munch on between classes that tend to be healthy and not promote gaining weight. Oh, and switch those sandwiches to whole wheat bread and healthy fillings - tuna or salmon with lettuce, sliced meats (from roasts not processed,) and a whole host of good stuff is ready and waiting for you. And as was mentioned, drink lots of water (and juices too) while avoiding pop, sugared drinks and the like.Oh, and since you once had regular gym attendance, maybe it's time to resume...

oh and try my tip. drink a glass of water when u think ur hungrey. if ur still hungry in ten mins then u should eat, if not then ur body was just thirsty and confused.lol
